The first New Hampshire Poll was completed over 47 years ago and while the political players in the state have changed, the major issues have not. In December 1976, concern over high property taxes was the most important problem facing the state and voters were opposed to a state sales tax and a state income tax. Voters were also opposed to state-run gambling. For a look back at some of the numbers and players, go to December 1976.
