Michael Kyle is ABKJ's most senior lawyer. He recently retired as a partner but continues to act as a consultant to the firm.

He is a graduate with a Bachelor of Laws degree from Queensland University and was admitted as a solicitor in 1972. Shortly after admission Michael relocated from Brisbane to the Gold Coast and joined the firm that has evolved to become ABKJ Lawyers today.

Complementing his extensive experience as a Gold Coast commercial lawyer, representing both large and small business clients, Michael is also a Notary Public. This function, administered by the Archbishop of Canterbury, has worldwide acceptance and authorises the holder by law to certify documents, take affidavits and administer oaths on an internationally recognized basis.

Michael believes that an essential part of being a good lawyer is having the capacity to communicate with clients on any level.

"Whether the client has a complex understanding of the legal problem, or if the situation is completely new to them, I believe you have to ensure they have the right information to make an informed decision about the advice they've been given," Michael says.

"I get immense satisfaction from being able to help a client achieve an outcome they're happy with and when we get to play a role like that in their business and build relationships with people it's incredibly rewarding."
