The Eltron LP 2824 Plus label printer has now been renamed to Zebra LP 2824 Plus. They are the exact same printer, just renamed to Zebra LP 2824 Plus since Zebra merged with Eltron International in October 1998.
Since a lot of retailers have purchased these awesome little printers under the Eltron name, there are still many people who use the name Eltron LP 2824 and Zebra LP 2824 interchangeably. For the purpose of this page we will refer to the page by it’s new name (Zebra LP 2824 Plus), but they are the exact same printer.
Zebra Eltron LP 2824 Plus for Point of Sale Programs
The Zebra LP 2824 Plus is fully integrated with our AmberPOS Point of Sale program, and allows you to print barcode labels for your inventory items directly from AmberPOS. No external software is required, and since you are able to print right from AmberPOS, no double-entry of data is required.

Zebra Eltron LP 2824 Plus Label Specifications
The Zebra 2824 Plus allows for printing on labels up to 2.36 inches (60 mm) in width with an actual maximum print width of 2.2 inches (56mm). We recommend the Zebra 2.25 x 1.25 inch labels for use with this printer.

One of the reasons we recommend this printer to our AmberPOS clients is because it is a very fast printer. This printer features a 32 bit RISC processor that allows it to print at speeds of 4 inches / second. This is a huge improvement, especially compared to the old dot matrix printers or older generation thermal printers.

The Zebra LP 2824 Plus offers both USB and Serial RS-232 interfaces with an auto-sensing serial port. The printer also comes standard with a Centronics Parallel (36 Pin) port, and allows for an optional 10/100 internal Ethernet with USB port (not included, but optional).
