Careers at EQC Toka Tū Ake

The Earthquake Commission (EQC), Toka Tū Ake, is a Crown Entity with a mission to reduce the impact on people and property when natural disasters occur.

Our country’s natural hazard risk profile is complex so we are focussed on supporting a healthy and prosperous New Zealand through delivery relating to recovery, resilience, risk financing and readiness.

We have a broad range of dynamic roles across both our Christchurch and Wellington office locations, requiring corporate, customer and technical expertise and experience. In all roles, EQC people are united in a common goal to make a difference to the lives of all New Zealanders.

EQC recognise that our people are our greatest asset. A key pillar of our EQC People Promise is that we value our people and their wellbeing, this includes balance and flexibility. Along with a competitive salary, five weeks annual leave, a wellbeing fund and continued professional development, we are committed to creating a great place to work through a sustained focus on personal wellbeing and flexible working arrangements for our people.

EQC is also committed to creating a diverse and inclusive workforce. Our employees thrive when we get this right and we work to draw on the differences in who we are, what we’ve experienced, and how we think. We make a difference for all New Zealanders and strive to increasingly reflect the diversity of communities we serve by including and valuing perspectives from all backgrounds including ethnicity, religion, gender, age, accessibility needs, sexual orientation, and national origin.
