    Plymouth Mega-Ride 2011 - Sunday 14th August

This year's charity Plymouth Mega-Ride is on Sunday 12th June - Sunday 14th August.

Anyone planning on going along? I've been to quite a few of these and there are usually thousands of bikes with many more people lining the roadside along the way.

More details available from the official website...

Sorry folks. Mega-Ride date has just been changed to Sunday 14th August due to utility company digging up the roads apparently.

As for the cats & dogs home, the Meg-Ride organisers usually have an online poll so that site visitors can vote for which 2 charities (from a list) they prefer the money to be split between.

Recent years have seen the money go to the British Limbless Ex-Servicemen's Association, National Children's Home & Multiple Sclerosis charities. I don't know which charities are on this year's list.

I'm pleased the date has changed, I'm at Silverstone for the MotoGP in June.

It would be nice if us Tigers met up en route and went in together.  I went to the Paignton Bike Festival and was the only Tiger 800 there and I was at a charity ride at Easter and apart from a 1960s Tiger and a couple of 1050s, I was the only 800 again.  I'm sure I'm the only 800 owner in Cornwall.  Or have they been bought and wrapped in cotton wool for preservation?

Who is going to this event from here?

I was there at the PBF with my T800XC on the Friday & saw what I think was Firestarter's Tiger there on the Saturday. What day were you there?

Anyhow, I shoud be at the Mega Ride although the revised date might clash with other plans. Would be good to get a few Tigers together for the ride.

We were there all day Saturday in between the showers.  We walked the bike park twice that day looking for Tiger 800s and didn't see any.  We parked on the sea side just before the building that bridges the road.
If the Plymouth meet begins at Lee Mill, maybe we need to find somewhere on that estate to group up.

I'm not sure if you've ever been to the Mega Ride (?) but good luck trying to meet-up on the estate. It's bad enough trying to get in there unless you arrive early. It's a big estate and gets very full before the ride starts. Might be easier to meet-up some place else before heading there, just don't try to get into the Tesco store next door either.

First time I did the Mega-Ride was a Triumph anniversary so many of them were moved around the estate to the front of the queue.

Did the Mega run last year..bit of a cock up getting out of the estate!! but the day was fun once we got going and finished down the front. Spent some time riding around the South West, what great roads.
Not sure about this year though, the cost of fuel now is making some good run outs and stop overs a little expensive
    Three is the magic number!
