The 44.33-metre Cantiere Delle Marche (CdM) superyacht Maverick has been delivered to her owners. She departed the shipyard in Ancona on her maiden voyage, with the entire owners family onboard. Maverick is the first Flexplorer 146 yacht and began construction in 2020, with Rezida Ross from Rezida Yachts introducing the buyer. She features exterior design and naval architecture by Hydro Tec, with complementing interiors from Francesco Paszkowski in collaboration with Margherita Casprini. The sixth 36.3-metre Moonen Martinique motor yacht Moonshine has been launched at the Moonen Yachts’ shipyard in the Netherlands.Due to be delivered before the summer season kicks off, Moonshine will spend this year cruising the Mediterranean and Caribbean before she arrives at her owner’s home in San Diego, California.As part of her builder’s fast displacement steel hull design series Moonen Martinique, the yacht features a bespoke interior design with a vibrant, distinctive decor, which was penned in collaboration with the Netherlands-based Hollander Yacht Design team. Furthermore, her exterior design is conceived by René van der Velden Yacht Design, and her naval architecture is courtesy of Diana Yacht Design.  As many as 12 guests can be accommodated onboard Moonshine thanks to her five stateroom layout, while additional accommodation is also provided for up to seven crew members. The 52-metre Royal Huisman sportfisher superyacht Project 406 has been named Special One in an unveiling ahead of her sea trials this morning.With a delivery date of 2024, the motor yacht features an exterior design, interior design, and naval architecture all courtesy of the Netherlands-based studio Vripack. The superyacht was launched earlier this year and has since been undergoing outfitting at the Dutch shipyard.Moreover, the sport fisherman yacht has a volume of 499 GT as well as a 9.8-metre beam. Additionally, the yacht Special One is composed of an aluminium hull and aluminium superstructure. She is the largest specialist sportfisher superyacht ever built.

Delivered in 1998 by Royal Hakvoort Shipyard, the yacht's exterior was designed by De Vries Lentsch and her interior penned by Ken Freivokh Design, combining a steel hull with an aluminium superstructure for durability. With a volume of 271 GT, Dona Amélia II offers accommodations for up to 10 guests across four well-appointed staterooms. Pot in the Netherlands and originally designed by Scheepswerf Schouten, Capella C first served the Royal Dutch Navy as an auxiliary hydrographic vessel, before transitioning to a pilot vessel role in Rotterdam Harbour. Transformed into a luxury expedition yacht in 1985, she later underwent a significant refit in 2017 that modernised her features, adding a full-size helicopter deck, and redesigning her exterior decks to carry two 9-metre tenders. Constructed from steel, the 902 GT yacht accommodates up to 22 guests in 11 staterooms and provides quarters for up to 17 crew members, supporting a high standard of service. Her design includes triple Deutz AG diesel engines, which enable a maximum cruising range of 4,500 nautical miles at 10 knots, making her suitable for long-range expeditions.

Project Toro is the first in a series from Turquoise Yachts based on an in-house engineering platform that offers clients faster delivery times combined with ample opportunity for customisation. Now in the outfitting stage, we travelled to the shipyard in Istanbul to visit the project before her launch later this year. Project Toro began in classic fashion with a charter client looking for a pre-owned yacht to buy. His long-term broker, Simon Ting of SuperYachtsMonaco, marked a potential 60-metre candidate and designers Harrison Eidsgaard were brought in to assess the interior for refit.   After discussions with the client, however, it was felt the yacht wasn’t ticking the right boxes and the focus changed to a new build. When Rob Doyle Design in Kinsale, Ireland, received a call from the largest sloop in the world saying the yacht had lost the tip of its keel off the coast of Peru, the team had to set in motion a repair job from the other side of the world. Mark Small, Technical Director at Rob Doyle Design, recounts how it was done.On 12 May 2022, we received a call from the captain of 77.6-metre M5 saying they had collided with a submerged object while sailing off the coast of Peru. The yacht had slowed significantly, but the impact was nothing like hitting a container. The crew concluded it was probably a freak encounter with a whale.  They undertook a full internal inspection around the keel box, hydraulic locking rams and locking shims.
