I don't believe I've ever seen a rotor whirl object before. I've seen parachute drop towers, control towers, fire towers, office towers, transmission towers, tv towers, radio towers, and hotel towers, but no rotors. You may want to take a look at hovercontrol on the wayback machine. Are you doing the Sikorsky factory?
Thanks, John. I suspect AI aircraft will be sent to the nearest runway for landing? So far, I've only seen AI aircraft from Russia tumble down over the Caucasus to r/w 20. I'll check where aircraft from Dubai and Jeddah are directed!
Cheers
Mike
Well I have rudder flutter on a fs2004 version and some years back it worked fine. I have a logtech wing man joy stick that has worked for a good while but does not now work on a AcerA515-51-5398. So I have an old Dell that will run fs 2004 and I connected the same joystick and it runs fine except slow. It does not have any flutter and I am happy. The Acer has W 11 and the Dell has W XP.
I cannot understand what would cause the js to work on one and not the other. Do any of you guys have some thoughts on this.
I thought the js was going bad and was going to get another js but tried it on the Dell and things were fine but slow. So now I need some suggestions.
Thanks
Don R
Also at my case ,
Installed other then system drive
But also don't start from the FS9.exe
Copy the fs9.exe and run from that.
May feel strange but seems Windows are checking what they installed and blocked at my case.
The copied fs9.exe worked.
Thanks, Peter. I have an AIG star/crosswind AFCAD for Beirut (OLBA). The take-off runway used by ATC seems to depend also on where the aircraft is parked! I've witnessed one plane parked on the east side of the terminal cleared for take off on 03 at the same time as another, which was parked on the west side, cleared for take off on17 - on collision course - scary..... I've saved the Sochi AFCAD in ADE9, but it's saved as an ad4 file. It's ages since I used ADE9, and feel very ignorant - how do you save it as a bgl for copying into Addon Scenery\Scenery??? I see you must have added ILS to rwy 20 - I've done the same - 3.5 degree glide slope!
Would anyone know if a helicopter rotor whirl tower/stand or just a set of rotor blades exist as a scenery object for FSX or FS9?
I'm adding a rotor whirl tower into a scene, it now has the tower, but no rotor.
Thanks
You will end up with likely the same problems but this time would've paid money to have them.
Uninstall FS9 if it is installed.
Install FS9 using the CDs.
Do not install FS9 to where the installer wants to install it "Program Files".
Create a new folder somewhere on your PC, even on desktop is fine and point the installer to install FS9 into new folder you created.
If CD2 provides any problems, tell us what is going wrong.
Once FS9 is installed, download the FS9.1 official patch and apply it.
Then install the FS9.1 nocd.
Launch the game.
Ask here for clarification on anything.
It's been several years since I dabbled with Kerbal but, fwiw, the physics behind it are quite good; I assume they attired it in the cartoonish graphics to broaden the appeal.
I'm happy to see them being shared. For some real Beech 18 videos, search Youtube Bob Trinque
Bob sold his C-45 but I had several breakfast flights in it and even got 30 min stick time. Flights from KPYM to KMVY or KACK for $45/seat
Very quickly: Orbiter still does exist, and can be found at http://orbit.medphys.ucl.ac.uk/ . The latest version on that site is 2016. In 2021, Martin Schweiger, the developer, put the source code out on GITHub, as time constraints kept him from developing the program further (makes him ACES in my book). There are a ton of add-ons. Orbiter is a true, Newtonian physics space flight simulator. If you think helicopters are hard... But the views...
I don't know Kerbal, but from the website https://www.kerbalspaceprogram.com/ , it seems more like a Sim City for space than a spaceflight simulator.
For exploring the cosmos with feet on terra firma, there's Stellarium http://stellarium.org/ . Within 5 minutes, I discovered that I've been looking for Pons-Brooks in the wrong place. There now is a web-based version, so nothing to install.
And a quick apology for being so quiet lately - the RW has been encroaching - in a good way; our blood work came out good, and my wife just celebrated a big birthday. More things to do, though, so gotta boogie... Will check in when I can.
Peace. Out.
