So that everyone is aware, we have several events coming up at Area 51. Starting this Thursday, we will be running Cardfight Vanguard tournaments every week! These tournaments are double elimination, best of one matches, and each participant will receive one promo pack for their participation, while supplies last. This event is now posted on the Events Calendar, so be sure to keep an eye out for more information.
This Saturday, we will be hosting Smash Bros. Melee & Brawl tournament, featuring Ultimate Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 and Persona 4 Arena. This event is being run by Emily Sun, and there will be various events for all three games throughout the day. For more information, please contact Area 51 or email Emily at emilydsun@gmail.com.
And finally, as a reminder, pre-registration for Return to Ravnica pre-releases starts this Friday! We strongly encourage pre-reg, because once again, these events WILL SELL OUT. We always want to provide every player the opportunity to play, but due to the immense anticipation of the set, we can not guarantee anyone a spot, so please sign up in advance. Daily Store Update 9/13/2012
Hello, loyal followers of Area 51! Just wanted to let you all know of happenings in the store over the next couple of weeks:
- We are currently updating all Magic singles in stock with new prices! We are also replenishing the many binders we keep cards in, so stop in and check to see if we have the older cards you need!
- Area 51 now carries the hot new card game Cardfight Vanguard! Singles, packs, and boxes are available.
- Dropzone Commander arrives in store Wednesday, September 19th!
- The Area 51 Donation Renewal Program comes to a close on September 15th! If you want to help contribute new tables, chairs, or other amenities you enjoy at the store, please stop by and inquire at the counter.
- Return to Ravnica pre-registration for pre-release will be starting Friday, September 21st, and we are heavily encouraging signing up in advance, as this is one of the most anticipated sets of all time, and spots will sell out. Also, Area 51 will be doing a raffle for everyone who plays in all three pre-releases for a box of Return to Ravnica.
- As Area 51 adjusts to life at the new store, be sure to monitor where you park, as we are located near other businesses that operate at the same hours as us. We would hate for you to be towed!

FREE COMIC BOOK DAY 2012!!!
FREE COMIC BOOK DAY IS ALMOST HERE!!!!
That's right, it's almost May! That means Free Comic Book Day (FCBD) is just around the corner and 2012 is going to be bigger than ever! This year we have several new sponsors joining the team including Harkins Theatres and Pluckers of Grapevine!
New to FCBD you say? No worries! Here is just a little information to help you get familiar with our national holiday...
- Everyone gets to choose a FREE comic book from an assortment of FCBD comics! Show us your library card and get an additional FREE comic book.
- Charity Raffle for Operation Kindness: Sponsors such as Harkins Theatres, Pluckers, Retro 51, British Emporium and several others have donated awesome items to go into the charity raffle. We sell tickets throughout the day to raise money for Operation Kindness (a NO-KILL animal shelter here in DFW.) All the money earned from the raffle will be donated along with several additional donations made by OnlineScrap.com and Area 51.
- Free Donuts from 10:00am - 12:00pm (while supplies last)
- Free British Candy (from British Emporium)

Lots of new(s)!
Theres been an influx of new things at Area 51 this week! Between our recent change in store hours and all kinds of new items in the shop. Its a great time to stop by if you haven;t been in a while.
Our hours have recently shifted to be a bit later in the day, optimizing our hours to all of you who come by after you get off work, school. or any other things going on in your busy days. Let us know what you think!
Theres also been an influx of new items in the shop, from new releases in warmachine (including the much awaited minuteman jack!), a new set of boosters for heroclix, several board games we've never had before, and loads of other things too! New News at Area 51
Hello there Area 51 regulars and newcomers. Heres a update of somethings you can look forward to seeing and hearing about at the store. The new version 3 Flames of War rulebook releases this weekend along with a new set of updated tokens for it. The book is hardbound and retails at $60. Included in it are of course all the new rules for the game but also an updated version of the Fortress Europe book to get your games rolling. Come check it out!
On another note, the Area 51 magic team will be competing at this weekends Star City Tourny. Anyone whos goning to be there should be on the look out for Area 51 shirts and wish them luck! Matter of fact to all of those going, best of luck from Area 51! We look forward to hearing all about it next time you are in.

Hell Dorado is Picking Up Steam at Area 51!
Over the last few weeks we have been giving out countless demos for Hell Dorado, the newest miniature game from Cipher Studios here at Area 51. So far the feedback has been amazing! Because of this we are moving forward to establish a regular game night here at the store.
If you are interested in getting a demo don't hesitate to swing buy on a Monday or Thursday night and ask for a demo. As the only store in Dallas Ft. Worth that stocks the full line, we are sure to have what you want if you are interested in getting started.
