Ermac was recently made available to download and play in Mortal Kombat 1 for everybody. He was absent for all of Mortal Kombat 11 (aside from a small cameo in the Krypt), so it's nice to finally see him back.
However, the Ermac in Mortal Kombat 1 isn't the same as the Ermac from Mortal Kombat 9 and Mortal Kombat X. The character has undergone some notable changes since we last had the opportunity to play as him. Are these changes enough to make him worth the money or did NetherRealm Studios mess up his redesign?
The first ever Street Fighter game was released back in 1987 and featured only two playable characters: Ryu and Ken. Those who walked up to the machine in arcades were able to pick between one Shoto or the other and engage in 1v1 combat, making Ryu vs. Ken the very first Street Fighter match up ever that could be played between two human players.
Here almost 40 years later now, that iconic and classic match up is still being played in the franchise's latest installment, Street Fighter 6. A recent set between two of the best players in the world right now, Tokido and EndingWalker, brings us the gift of not only being an incredible set between two titans, but also show us what that old school, legendary bout looks like at the highest of levels in the latest game.
Fergus2k8 has released a new tier list for Tekken 8. As opposed to his recently released traditional tier list and ease-of-use tier list, this tier list is designed to indicate which characters are in need of nerfs and which should be buffed.
Needless to say, all 33 fighters have been divided up into one of four tier categories — the "execute" group, the "tone down" group, the "leave them" group, and the "buff a little" group. To be clear, the "execute" group means that these characters should be executed by nerfs.
X-Men '97 so far has been a real nostalgia trip for fans who grew up during the decade, and it certainly seems to help that the people making the cartoon have love for the other media involving Marvel's mutants from the era too.
With the trailer drop for the new X-Men episode 'Rogue Goes Rogue', the power-stealing hero appears to pretty overtly reference one of her classic moves from the Marvel vs. Capcom games.
Fans have been waiting not so patiently for the arrival of Akuma in Street Fighter 6 for almost a full year now, but it's looking more like that timer may soon have an end point in sight.
Capcom just recently launched a new promotion in SF6 that appears to further point towards Akuma's release date, as a gameplay trailer drop is looking more likely for this weekend too.
It may not have really crossed your mind, but Mortal Kombat 1's been out over six months already — and some good deals are starting to show up.
Similarly to what we just saw with Street Fighter 6, Mortal Kombat 1 is now on sale for the cheapest price we've seen thus far, and that includes the Kombat Pack and Premium Edition of the game too.
Fighting game heroines like Chun-Li, Cammy and Mai Shiranui may always be the most popular among cosplayers, but there's certainly something special about the bad girls too.
Our friend Caytie Cosplay has been showing off more of that bad side lately by unveiling her new Tekken 8 Reina cosplay as well as multiple outfits for Juri from Street Fighter 6.
Mortal Kombat 1 has seen a number of different bugs and odd glitches throughout its lifespan already. Some unintended behavior proved problematic for competitive play, while others just brought in weird visual oddities that caused some head scratches.
While a good portion of these things have been fixed, another strange interaction was caught on film that features a very bizarre bug involving Havik in Mortal Kombat 1. This one is hilariously awesome.
Just yesterday, we got our first glimpse at Illaoi's gameplay in 2XKO as well as a brief breakdown for the character. She'll apparently be playable in a demo that will be present at Evo Japan 2024.
In the meantime, the 2XKO Twitter account recently posted some new gameplay footage featuring Illaoi in action. Illaoi has apparently teamed up with Ahri to take on Ekko and Yasuo.
It's been announced by Team GRAPHT on Twitter that they are selling Street Fighter 6 themed face sleeping masks at Evo Japan 2024 at the GRAPHT booth. They'll be selling for ¥1,980, which is equivalent to about $12.79 in USD.
As seen in the images, there will be face sleeping masks for Ryu, Chun-Li, Ken, Luke, Jamie, Juri, Cammy, E. Honda, Zangief, Guile, JP, Blanka, Marisa, Manon, Dhalsim, Lily, Kimberly, Dee Jay, and Rashid. Unfortunately, there are no masks for A.K.I., Ed, or Akuma.
Marisa's level 1 super art, Javelin of Marisa, is unique in Street Fighter 6 in that it's capable of dishing out more damage if its counter properties are triggered. It's definitely something to be wary of when Marisa is on her last legs.
Needless to say, MDZ Jimmy recently posted an amusing clip that had him going against a Master ranked Marisa player. Based on MDZ Jimmy's reaction, he wasn't expecting Marisa's level 1 super art in the situation that it was used in, but things ended up working out for MDZ Jimmy anyhow.
Fighting game-themed statues can get pretty darn wild at the high end of the scale, but they must sell pretty decently since it seems like we're seeing more and more of them.
Prime 1 Studios recently revealed the first look at their ridiculously detailed Street Fighter 6 statue for Cammy that'll also likely be as ridiculously expensive too — though Skullomania fans will have a much cheaper option to pick up their hero.

Just last year, the sixth entry of the Street Fighter main series was released with Street Fighter 6. However, it turns out that there are a number of players still grinding Street Fighter 4 to this day.
StealthSneak claims to have been playing Street Fighter 4 for 15 years now. Based on some of the incredible interactions featured in his recent Street Fighter 4 videos, this statement comes off as believable.
