About

DesignCraft is an event focusing on content design and creation. This event encourages people to make creative works with Minecraft™ using little or no programming.

Participants are given 48 hours to make creative works based on a theme given at the beginning of the event. The creative works from the event are divided into two categories - Level Design and Creations.

Creative works may be made individually or collaboratively. Participants may use world editors, such as MCEdit during the event.

You will need your own Minecraft™ account to participate.

Category: Level Design

This category is intended for creative works focused on game level design using Minecraft™. This means maps should focus on playability and level design.

These maps can be single-player or multi-player maps. Maps are expected to have an objective.

Examples of maps in this category could be single/multi-player adventure maps, multi-player building challenges, attack/defense maps, races, survival challenges or something new Creeper smiley.

Category: Creations

This category is intended for building impressive and creative works (both artistically and/or functionally). This means maps should focus on being observed or experienced.

Maps can be building art or experiences, complex Minecraft™ machinery, recreating real life works in Minecraft™ or building something new.

Examples of maps in this category may include building droppers, creating machinery, crafting cities, recreating real-life or fantasy works in Minecraft™ or creating interesting user experiences.
