Boasting a combined age of 193 - the 'world's oldest newlyweds' get married after dating for 18 years
After 18 years of courtship, 95-year-old Lillian Hartley and 98-year-old Allan Marks finally tied the knot this week.
And if the ‘Guinness Book of World Records’ confirms their ages, the Californian couple will officially earn the title of world's oldest newlyweds, a Guinness spokesperson told The Desert Sun.
The pair, a widow and widower, first met in Palm Springs, California in 1994 when Marks, a retired veterinarian from Brooklyn, complimented Hartley on her dress.

Hitched: With a combined age of 191 Lillian and Allan Marks are the world's oldest newlyweds
Hartley, a retired paralegal from Boston, told The Desert Sun: ‘I'm not deeply religious, but I think it was meant to be. I didn't want a relationship - I enjoyed my freedom - but he got me.’
She revealed that they have been living together ‘in sin’ since they began dating, and enjoy watching Los Angeles Lakers games and traveling to Cancun, Mexico.
The sweethearts never had time to get married before as they preferred to spend their time travelling.

But they eventually found time to get hitched in a civil ceremony at the Riverside County Clerk's office on Feb 29.
Currently, 90-year-old Rose Pollard and 100-year-old Forrest Lunsway hold the title of the world's oldest newlyweds, according to TIME.
If Hartley and Marks are as old as they say they are, the couple will surpass the world’s oldest newlyweds title-holders by at least two years.
Contenders: Rose, 90, and Forrest Lunsway, 100, are the current record holders for oldest newlyweds
