NBC TO TAPE AND BROADCAST PROGRESSIVE SKATING & GYMNASTICS SPECTACULAR AT THE I WIRELESS CENTER IN MOLINE ON SATURDAY, OCTOBER 29, 2011

EVENING WILL INCLUDE PERFORMANCES FROM OLYMPIC, WORLD AND NATIONAL MEDALISTS IN SKATING AND GYMNASTICS ALONG WITH MUSICAL PERFORMANCES FROM DISNEY AND NICKELODEON STARS
Moline, Ill. (August 12, 2011) --- The Progressive Skating and Gymnastics Spectacular will perform for a live audience at the i wireless Center on Saturday, October 29 at 7:00 pm. NBC will broadcast the show nationally on January 8, 2012 as a part of the Pandora NBC Skating Series. Tickets go on sale Saturday, September 10 at 10 am.
This unique event will feature performances from two-time Olympic figure skating silver medalist Elvis Stojko, 2010 Olympic bronze medalist Joannie Rochette, World Champion and six-time U.S. champion Todd Eldredge, and 2008 Olympic all-around gymnastics champion Nastia Liukin. Performing live will also be Disney Channel, Nickelodeon and YouTube sensations Greyson Chance, Cody Simpson, Ariana Grande, and Shane Harper.
The Progressive Skating and Gymnastics Spectacular skating cast will also include two-time world bronze medalist Michael Weiss, 1987 world bronze medalist Caryn Kadavy and the reigning U.S. champion Ryan Bradley. The cast of gymnasts will be led by Liukin, and 2008 Olympic Silver Medalist and two-time and current U.S. National all-around Champion Jonathon Horton.
The event will be hosted by Olympic champions and legends Peggy Fleming, Nadia Comaneci and Bart Conner.
Greyson Chance has accomplished more than many musicians can hope for in their careers; two successful North American tours, performing at the White House, national television appearances on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” and “Good Morning America,” and now the release of his debut album Hold On ‘Til The Night. Hold On ‘Til The Night not only showcases Chance’s talents as a songwriter, vocalist and piano player, but also his wide range of influences.
Cody Simpson began posting YouTube videos of himself at age 12 performing covers of songs by artists who inspired him, including Justin Timberlake, Jason Mraz, and The Jacksons. Simpson’s YouTube Channel, active since August 2008, now boasts over 76 million views and more than 250,000 subscribers. In April 2010, Simpson signed with Atlantic Records, which released his debut EP, “4U” highlighted by the rhythmic pop singles “All Day” and “iYiYi” featuring Flo Rida. This past May, Simpson released his latest single, “On My Mind” which skyrocketed to #1 on Radio Disney. Simpson is currently on a nationwide "Coast To Coast Tour" ofU.S. malls and will be releasing a six song "Coast To Coast" EP on September 20th.
Ariana Grande is an actress and singer who currently appears in the Nickelodeon series Victorious. She is also known for playing the role of "Charlotte" in 13 on Broadway, which won her a National Youth Theatre Association Award. She played the role of Miriam in the first reading of the new musical Cuba Libre. She has worked with Grammy-winning composers including Diane Warren. In the summer of 2009, she taught music and dance to children in South Africa as a member of "Broadway in South Africa". She is working on her debut album on Universal Republic Records, which is expected to be released in early 2012.
Shane Harper is a talented quadruple threat! As a singer, songwriter, actor and dancer, Harper is best known for his role as “Spencer Walsh” in the Disney Channel's teen sitcom Good Luck Charlie and as a principal dancer in High School Musical 2. In addition, Harper co-stared in the Rob Reiner film "Flipped". His self-titled debut album (Executive Produced by Adam Anders - Glee & Rock of Ages) was released April 12, 2011 featuring the Top 10 Radio Disney hit, “One Step Closer”.
