My dog also was injured while in their care. Big thumbs down for irresponsible care takers.
Edit: Found the response generic and fictitious. Was never compensated anything. Newcomers beware. You have been warned.Helpful 6Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Edit: upon further review, I see that this issue and the last time you visited us was TWO YEARS AGO. I will leave it up to Yelp readers to decide for themselves. I wish you all the best and to have a wonderful day.
Hello. I am sorry that your pup was injured, I wish you had informed us so that we may have addressed it, found out what the issue was or taken steps to compensate you or take care of the vet bill. I do care about the concerns of my customers and if you wish to e-mail me you may do so at: bennysdogresort@yahoo.com - Elyse L.Temecula, CA6977262308Jan 1, 2016
We recently moved back to the Dallas area and were in need of a boarding facility for our girls over Christmas. At our last place we had to make holiday reservations way in advance so I was worried they wouldn't have spots open. Luckily they did, and I was even more pleased to find out what we had been paying in Austin is what it costs here for them to have VIP accommodations. Done!
Right away I appreciated them wanting to see recent vet papers as well as doing a free trial day of daycare to be sure they would get along with the other dogs and not be aggressive. Any boarding facility that doesn't do this beforehand is one I would be weary of.
When we came to pick them up at the end of their trial day they gave us a tour of their facility too. They let the pups play all day and only put them in rooms at night to sleep. They have security cameras everywhere and lots of fun activities like a playground pirate ship for them to jump all over which I love.
The staff are very friendly and kind to our girls, going so far as to email us while we were away to say how much they were loving the cold weather.
The only reason I'm giving them 4 and not 5 stars is because of all the added fees. For a VIP suite it's $60 a night ($45 for the first dog and an additional $15 for each dog after that). The other rooms were way too small for huskies so I wouldn't feel comfortable booking them in anything other than the VIP. Plus they keep them together, give them raised cots to sleep on, extra bedding, fresh water, and even play soft music while they sleep.
If you pick them up after 11:00 it's extra ($10 I think) and also they charge if you forget to bring food. Our other place would feed the girls for free. I believe here it's $1 per meal per dog, which doesn't seem high but for 2 dogs that are there a week it adds up.
If you are looking to just do daycare, it's $22 per dog a day and grooming is around $30-40 each dog depending on the size and what all you need done. (Just a bath or bath plus nails and brushing etc)
It makes me feel good that their front door is always locked, and you have to ring a doorbell for assistance. I also like that they have a personal vet nearby should an emergency happen and will consult you before making any decisions.
Our girls had a blast here and I felt very secure while we were away that they were both safe and happy. We will continue to bring them here in the future.Helpful 26Thanks 0Love this 27Oh no 0Business owner information

Benny's has a hidden, yet extraordinary facility in Carrollton. The staff is upbeat and friendly. There are so many positives that I don't know where to begin.
They have a PIRATE SHIP for the dogs to play on in the back-lot area. A... PIRATE SHIP! Awwweeesommeee. There's also various playground equipment, tennis ball activities and other courses that encourage play.
The boarding facilities inside are well-maintained and clean. I can't say it enough... the workers do a solid job with the upkeep.
As for the prices, lets say they're competitive. The packages are your best bang for your buck--no questions.

A little over a year ago, one our beloved boys (Shih-Tzu) got very hurt at Benny's. He was trampled by a Black Lab and German Shepherd that were roughhousing. I could tell something was wrong when I picked him up, as he was favoring his right side.
Well, the next morning I took him to the vet and my fiancée went up to Benny's to research what exactly happened. Luckily, through video recordings, she was able to locate that moment where he was ran over. She relayed the info over to me while I was sitting at the vet's office.
A few hours later, we received the terrible news that his right shoulder was badly separated. Of course this lead to a huge vet bill + pain meds.
Our vet, as well as their entire office, (Valley Ranch Animal Clinic) was "extremely disturbed" that Benny's would allow vastly different sized/weighted dogs to play in the same area--for this very reason.
Sad to say, after all this, we never returned to Benny's; let alone, received ANY apology from their staff. What a shame. We invested over $1,000 into their business and our Shih-Tzus were adored by their staff. When adversity strikes, you find out who people really are.
If you're on the fence about Benny's, let this story push you over to the "not here" side. Go to Pet Paradise in Las Colinas. Your furry family members will be safe and happy there.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Business owner information

Hello Zac S. I have always been open, upfront and honest with my customers and I will continue to do so here.
(1) you are entitled to your opinion. I will not argue or debate you on Yelp.
(2) unfortunately Yelp is a forum that gives equal weight to exaggerated/false reviews as well as truthful/objective reviews. I will let the reader decide for themselves.
(3) we showed you exactly the play environment, the mix of dog sizes and fully explained our facilities. You and your fiancé viewed and consented to this. Your own review stated "so many positives"
(4) we fully explained the play environment in our written terms and conditions. You and your fiancé agreed to and consented to this.
(5) my employee apologized profusely for the incident when we showed her the video. Both parties parted on good terms at that time. Your fiancé even hugged my employee after she understood what happened. Your fiancé left our facilities understanding what happened and did not express any reservation, nor was any issue brought up in the months afterwards.
(6) Lastly, you waited a whole year to bring up your issues ... I'll leave that up to the reader to decide.
I wish you all the best in your other facility. I harbor no ill will towards you or your review. This is our side of the story and I leave it for the reader to decide.
Sincerely, --Benny (owner).Apr 5, 2017Previous reviewBenny's has a hidden, yet extraordinary facility in Carrollton. The staff is upbeat and friendly. There are so many positives that I don't know where to begin.

My dog stayed there for a week. The day after I picked him up I found out there's a bigger than quarter size hole between his ear and neck. Smelt bad and still can see bleeding. I made a call just wanted to know when did it happen and how bad was it when it happened. The minute she heard about it, she blamed everything to my dog, said he was rough and it was entirely his fault. More sadly, it has happened over 5 days already. I thought I paid for having someone took care of him, at least when bad thing happened, I am able to know immediately. Sad place, sad staff, and poor doggie.
The owner replied my review said my story is not entirely true. I am even more disappointed to them, they replied every bad reviews with thousands of excuses, nothing about truly sorry for our dogs. I want to know so badly which part I am saying is not true. Isn't my dog got hurt? Isn't the staff who answered the phone blamed everything on my dog? Isn't the injury happened over 5 days? So funny the owner said I should have worked with him and he would have paid for the vet. If there's a "should have", all dogs lovers who had bad experiences with this hotel, should have never bring their dogs to this place. Plus, I didn't hear the staff saying anything about paying for the treatment over the phone, and they made you sign some paperwork about they won't take any responsibilities during dog's stay.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Hello. Thank you for your review and for bringing this to my attention. I am truly sorry that your dog got injured and I wished you had worked with me first so that I could take your dog to the vet and pay for the necessary treatment - it's what we do when a dog gets injured.
In defense of my staff, I listened to the recorded phone call and your story is not entirely correct.Jul 19, 2017Previous reviewMy dog stayed there for a week. This place was great! I have a 10 month old Australian Shepard / corgi mix and he had a great time here. It was our first time boarding him and they actually "interview" the dogs, they kept him for several hours the day prior to board omg to make sure he'd get along with the other dogs and staff. In my mind that's really reassuring cause you know they won't let dogs in then that just don't get along well with other dogs.
The posted pictures daily of the dogs and he seemed to love it. It even got him more comfortable with being around other dogs which was great cause being a puppy he was a little scared of being around large groups of dogs.
I highly recommend them, they have a very welcome staff, clean facility and nice outdoor space.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Maggie L.Dallas, TX342992Oct 24, 2014
Been coming here for years and would highly recommend to anyone.
Spacious facility, with 25,000 square feet of out door play area. Pirate ship, multiple play structures, lots of shaded areas, wading pools.
Hours of operation 7am to 7pm seven days a week. They are closed for lunch / nap time from 11am to 1pm.
The daycare service is a deal, if you purchase a 5, 10 or 20 day pass which offers various levels of discounts and with the 10 & 20 pass including a free bath.
The Doggy hotel choose from multiple kennel sizes from economy ($30), standard ($32), to extra large Vip suites ($45)
The entire staff are long term employees that truly care about the dogs, and customers. They are always happy to see my dog and know her name. Benny's is involved in several animal charitable organizations and often donates part of the revenue for worthy causes which is a nice bonus.
They provide other additional services such as doggie baths, "pupcakes", you can even get a bordetalla shot for $10, and lastly taxi service for pickup and drop-off.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

We LOVE Benny's!! We feel so lucky to go here. Everyone is so kind and the reviews are spot on.
I really appreciate that they start with a FREE trial day (we have seen places that make you pay for their trial). They even allow you to leave them there all day, but suggest at least an hour.
We first came to Benny's to board our dog, Roadie. We went out of town for 4 nights and like a crazy dog mom I called the 2nd day to check on him. The people here love the dogs, I just said his name and immediately the gentleman on the phone said "oh, the black and white one? He's doing great!" To know they immediately knew who he was and paid close attention made me feel right at ease. When I picked him up they told me about the dogs he hung around most and chatted with me about his fun behavior. It's so good to hear people speak well and know about your dog. Pack their food in a tub or borrow one from them. I think they charge just $1/meal if you forget which isn't bad at all.
We recently just signed up for a 30 day pass, only $12/day!! For how much our little guy loves this place it is worth every penny.
They lock the front door and have you buzz to be let in, the security is very well handled and you can see the videos of the dogs while in the office. All staff has been nothing but wonderful, we are so excited to become usuals here :)Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - DK J.Coppell, TX114May 16, 2016Updated review
Been here a couple of times with my very active puppy and they are sooooo nice. The outdoor space looks like so much fun. Plan to bring her weekly as long as we are welcome.
Update: We've been going here for doggie day care for several months and this place is absolutely amazing. My dog starts going crazy when I get within a mile of Benny's. At first sight this looks great. What I didn't understand was the inside play area is NOT TEMP CONTROLLED. Still not a problem for me as they have pools, shad and misters. What is a problem is when it's cold (43 degrees outside) they put them in a 5x5 kennel and don't get to play. Since there are no cameras you don't know unless you pick your dog up early. Yes, the wind chill is 38 degrees but I feel like that's when they should have shut the inside and let them play. There's no wind chill in there and the dogs are running. The dogs will be inside a good part of the summer b/c they put them up (in 5x5 kennels) in extreme weather. When I asked for approximate extreme temps so I can check the weather and go somewhere else on those days (not asking a lot here) they got mad and mean. Also, they then said in the summer they are really busy so the daycare dogs come in in the afternoon and the kennel dogs go out (they rotate them b/c there's not enough room). I appreciate they take care of the dogs but I'm an overprotective pet parent who thinks you should be given clear guidelines especially when you're paying for a place that advertises indoor/outdoor space from 7-7. BOTTOM LINE... YOUR DOG WILL BE IN A SMALL BOX MORE THAN YOU REALIZE AND YOU WON'T KNOW IT b/c you can't check on them and it's customary to bring them in a kennel for the last hour-ish for cleaning when most pick-up from care. I just happened to leave work early and found out.
It's probably for the best since they seem to be overcrowded. There were 50 dogs Friday (2adults) and that's not even their busy time. I'm beginning to see why several are reporting injuries recently. They seem to be overcrowded.
Updated to address owner's reply: I have not bounced from one place to another. Nothing I have said is slander. You advertise indoor AND outdoor play area. When your representatives said they bring them indoor in extreme weather it was reasonable to assume that meant in the 3k sq ft "indoor" play space I was shown in the tour and read of on your website but an isolated kennel. Even so, I respected the restrictions and only asked for guidelines so I can go to an alternative place in extreme weather. As I explained to your staff, I like your outside play area and would go to yours first. But in extreme weather I would take him to a place that has a temp controlled indoor play area so he can still run around the full day. It was not meant to be ugly but a clarification. I didn't take the refund b/c I had intended on returning. However after learning playtime is also arbitrarily restricted and dogs are rotated and put in kennels when you allow too many dogs than your staff and/or facilities can accommodate. I agreed to him being kennels so your staff can go to lunch from 11-1, but not other times. I look forward to your response and hope this can identify areas of improvement.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Hello and thanks for your review. I realize that you’ve bounced from one kennel, to our kennel and I’m sure you’ll bounce to another one soon. I sincerely hope you find one that meets your expectations. We offered to refund your money, but you refused. Please feel free to choose a facility that meets your overprotective (your words) needs.
We are not the type of facility that leaves dogs out all day for hours on end in the very cold or very hot weather. My first concern is for a dog’s health - period. I wouldn’t even leave my own dogs out in my house yard for long periods of time in weather like this.
My staff does an outstanding job day in and day out in all sorts of weather. We can’t please overprotective (your words) concerns, but I know they do a good job and many happy dogs and happy customers will attest to it.
Your comments are incorrect and border on slander.
Bottom line: we’ve been caring for dogs for over 16 years. I’ve never hidden anything from customers (that’s why we have you tour the place beforehand).
Lastly, I will defend my practices and my employees from people/reviews that exaggerate or twist the story.
Have a good day. - Sharon G.Lewisville, TX34512May 11, 2016
My name is Franklin and I love this place! My Mom drops me off early and I spend the day playing with my friends, getting loved on by the fun staff and i come home exhausted! They have fun obstacles for me to climb in, and shady areas in case I need to cool off. They post lots of pictures on Facebook for my Mom to see. I haven't slept there overnight but I'm sure I'd love it. You should have your parents bring you here, you'll love it!
