When falling down the rabbit hole leads to an absurd as hell, wonderful night watching strange movies with good friends instead of eating Funyuns and staring at reddit while the more reasonable hours of the day slip through your fingers. Featuring the closing of Jess Johnson’s exhibition "g/r/ep", a screening of Richard Bailey's "The Legacy of an Outsider" followed a screening of Everything Is Terrible's full-length feature "The Great Satan". This kick-off to our new film screening series is appropriately set on the eve of the highest day of the year! BYOW but come to the concession stand (bar) for classic movie snacks and plenty of your favorite beverages from Lalo Tequila, Richard’s Rainwater, and more! The event is free for members of Co-Lab Projects, Hyperreal Film Club and We Luv Video.

Everything Is Terrible! is a video/art/performance collective specializing in a never-ending treasure trove of found-footage videos, psychedelic feature films, international touring live shows, and immersive installations. Since 2007, they've curated a vast library of found footage, re-editing and sharing daily gems from forgotten media. Their world-building spaces have received worldwide acclaim- from the infamous Jerry Maguire Video Store to Pizza Pals Playzone, on permanent display at Meow Wolf's Convergence Station in Denver, CO. With 8 feature films to their name (including the praised DoggieWoggiez! PoochieWoochiez!), they continue to melt the faces of children and the elderly.

Hyperreal Film Club is a time and a place for good folks to see good movies. Since 2016, we’ve popped up in dozens of Austin’s most iconic locations to bring you our fave entries in the world of cult, genre, arthouse, and independent cinema — always paired with one or more short films showcasing the thriving local filmmaking scene here in ATX. In person at our weekly+ events or online all the time on our Discord server, friendship and support is tightly coiled throughout the DNA of everything we do and dream. Collaborating with local venues, amplifying local artists, and providing radically affordable events for everybody is what we’re all about. See you at the movies!

We Luv Video has brought back the video store experience to Austin. We Luv Video is a membership-based, non-profit video rental library and micro-cinema, located in the North Loop neighborhood of North Central Austin. We Luv Video was created to carry on the creative mission of Austin’s beloved video store, I Luv Video, which closed in 2020. That store, one of the largest in the world, was a longtime advocate of the DIY aesthetic and encouraged the autodidact film connoisseur.

Built on I Luv Video’s collection and attitude, We Luv Video continues to champion and preserve physical media and to encourage Austinites to express themselves through film. We Luv Video members can experience over 120,000 DVDs, BluRays, and VHS, which includes a vast collection of local Austin videos, LGBTQ+ materials, indie movies, and foreign films that never made it to streaming services. We Luv Video is the harbinger of the return of rentals, with no late fees.
