Laura Woods has explained her recent absence from television by revealing she is recovering from surgery after suffering serious face and arm injuries while on holiday with her boyfriend. Prince Edward (right), 60, and his wife Sophie (left), 59, were all smiles as they made a visit to the Palace of Holyroodhouse and took part in the tradition, which happens every time the monarch or their official representative makes an official visit to the city. Cambridge students dressed in full academic regalia headed to their graduation ceremonies at 'secret venues' today after pro-Palestine protesters tried to stall them.  Students pitched tents on a lawn outside of Senate House on Wednesday in an attempt to disrupt graduation ceremonies due to take place there today and tomorrow. Cambridge University announced yesterday that it had taken the 'very difficult decision' to hold the events at an undisclosed 'alternative location'.

A brave man grabbed a huge STICK to fend off crooks trying to steal his car in shocking scenes. This is the moment that two hooded thieves in East London attempted to steal a car before being taunted by it's real owner. The victim - in a green T-shirt - was standing next to his black hatchback with the front passenger door open when the thieves arrived.

The brown bodies of the five elephants stand out against the dark green shrubs. The animals - sleeping in remarkable similar ways in the long grass, their trunks tucked under their chins and their legs crossed - all vary in size. They appear to have formed a protective ring around a baby elephant that can be seen curled up in the middle of the herd

An unidentified woman was filmed on a doorbell camera swiping the goods from outside a front doorstep on Malmesbury Road in Southampton on Friday, 10 May. Hampshire Police's Neighbourhood Policing Team covering Southampton has now issued an appeal for anyone who may know the thief. In the video, the woman looked down the road to apparently see if the coast was clear before she marched down the path towards the package. She scooped the large package quickly without looking to see what was inside and walked back down the street with it in her hand.
