On my skin this is stupid sweet, sharp and lasts forever. This one reminds me of my worst hangovers.

Lady Nightshadow

This is a fruit bomb, think a sweet mixed fruits juice without a main character, that still develops quite nicely with the sweet woody notes of the dry down. These give to Fantasy a less childish vibe, still maintaining an undeniable playful and youthful atmosphere.
I would have loved this when I was a teenager!

Unfortunately, this kind of fruits fragrances need to work well with your skin chemistry: they can turn sour, as they infallibility do on me, while being marvelous on paper mouillettes and clothes.

The closest fragrance that I can think of is the Garnier Fructis shampoo scent, which is amazing, but it's up to you to decide how much you want to smell like shampoo.
Personally, I'm glad I could try this but I don't think it belongs in my collection.

s1erraj0y

I recently purchased this perfume and I really do love it. I find that it lasts throughout the day, and I received a lot of attention and compliments while wearing it.
I definitely pick up the top notes and the floral middle notes, but I'm not really detecting the white chocolate or cupcake at all. But that's okay! I'd definitely be interested in trying the other fragrances by Britney Spears.

carrico1986

If you were lucky enough to experience the original formulation, then you know how amazing this fragrance was. It was a man-magnet of a scent and it lasted for hours. I recall it smelling like vanilla cake or frosting mixed with white chocolate. It was delicious! I ordered another fantasy back in 2018 because I was feeling nostalgic and wanted this scent again but wow! They've really changed it! It has none of its vanilla cake/white chocolate DNA left...instead it is a sour kiwi-bomb with weak notes of litchi that come through. Nothing at all like the original formula!

fancyvivid

I hadn't smelled this in 15 years and ordered it for nostalgic purposes. The opening is a little odd but once this settles it's amazing. Pretty sure the formulation has not been changed. It's sweet but not in a coy or innocent way, there's definitely a kick to this, a slight tang. Very unique and well blended fragrance- no stick out note for me. Despite the notes, it's not overly sweet or juvenile. The OG fantasy is such a recognizable fragrance. A time capsule of iconic 2000s perfumery and very wearable!

Edit: Silage and staying power is surprisingly good for a celebrity fragrance, lasted 10+ hours on me. Much better staying power than some of the newer fantasy fragrances.

Chriskas

Well well,I’m kinda disappointed. I have bought it twice. First time was a set the perfume and body cream. I thought that I might have gotten a bad batch so I gave it away. Now the second time I just bought the perfume and I’m sad about it. I have the Made in Spain formulation. I don’t get neither cupcake nor chocolate! It’s straight up sour smell on the opening and then it fades to nothing 😔
It’s like there is sour water inside the bottle that fades away into 3 minutes. Waste of my coins

GBH0907

I'm buying a second bottle, its that good, a true gourmand, with the cupcakes, and white chocolate, very little fruit for me but that's ok, in fact perfect, I have nothing in my collection that smells like this!! I'm so mad I bought the other flankers first because truly all I needed was this. LOVE THIS PERFUME!!!

sillyfruit

Fantasy by Britney Spears, my beloved. One of the first perfumes I owned as a teen and still a favorite. A scrumptious and sexy gourmand fragrance. Playful and uplifting. I smell the juicy candied fruit, sugary cupcake and white chocolate. Layered atop the musk and woodsiness of the base notes, they pack a sensual punch. It's very much a warm, sweet, pink, sugary fruit candy fragrance. It CAN lean towards headache inducing because it is very bombshell sweet, but it is such a luscious perfume and an absolute delight to sniff. The drydown is rich and balanced, I smell a tantalizing musk-cupcake-chocolate blend with a twinge of fruity strawberry-ness. It smells more mature and creamy when it dries down; not AS pink candy sweet as the initial spray, but still very much so. In more abstract terms it smells pink, expensive, y2k, like a glittery hot pink prom dress with butterfly accents. An excellent "glam summer night out" perfume. I would say it has pretty decent longevity because it's just so rich and sugary.

christinipanini

i’m young and I have been trying to start up a fragrance collection. i got this as gift and i was really excited to try this one out since i love gourmands. not sure if it’s because of the reformulation, but it has a headache inducing sweetness that slightly reminds me of playdough almost. i’m going to try to store it in a cold dark space for a while and see if it gets any better through time.

Juliannajames

Im a little biased because when I was a young girl this is what i was obsessed with. But I really do love the smell. Not only bringing up memories but its just so sweet and comforting. Its worth a smell, or a retry since its been a long time favorite for many. And the bottle makes it 10x better to love

iwantmoreperfume

its nice but if u don't like extremely sweet scents this probably isn't for you. it can get a bit head-achy from how sweet it is, but me personally, I do not mind it. the chocolate and cupcake notes are to die for, the opening is reallllyyyyyy nice, the dry down is a bit powdery, sweet, and something I don't really know how to describe (gives a bit of headache). definitely a scent that should be used when it's warm

Upahara

I was kinda scared to try Fantasy as an adult because I was worried the cupcake and white chocolate notes were going to be too sickeningly sweet and ruin my childhood nostalgia, but surprisingly, it wasn't as sweet as I expected, even though it literally smells like cupcake!

I feel like Fantasy is a mix between a juvenile and young adult scent, it actually has a really nice level of sweetness to it, its not overly cloying, chemically or syrupy like Midnight Fantasy - which is straight up a kids perfume no offence.

Although Fantasy smells like a cake, it doesn't totally smell gourmand, it genuinely is a nice fragrance. Its a classic for a reason. Id say the longevity and silage is low/medium.

Intimate Fantasy smells alot like Fantasy but a tad less sweet and perfect for a mature audience, it is also more longer lasting, so something to think about if you want something less cakey.

blackamethyst

Just received a second bottle of this beauty. I'm loving it.

Shimmer412

A sweet, warm, creamy, yummy, flirty, and fun fruity floral gourmand fragrance. This is so well blended that it’s difficult to pick out any individual notes. On me it’s a nice, sweet, candy and iced vanilla cupcake like scent with just a touch of floral and woodsy scent to it.

I get really good performance with Fantasy. The longevity is great, it lasts the entire day on me. The projection is nice too, it radiates out about an arm’s length from me. I think it has surprisingly good performance, especially for its price, so I think it’s a really great value.

I’m a huge fan of sweet gourmand fragrances. Just for reference, some of my favorites include Kayali Vanilla Candy Rock Sugar, Gold Sugar, SDJ Cheirosa 62, Juicy Couture Viva La Juicy Sucre, Nest Golden Nectar, and Jessica Simpson Fancy

cherryfaerie

This is incredibly floral and fruity. I really wish I experienced the cupcake note you all are describing, but it is just not there.

This scent is alright! Quite nostalgic for me.

Jasminelove28

This is a legendary fragrance

bunnoid

its nice, but very juvenile (even for me who doesnt like to smell TOO serious) i feel like it would have suited me better in middle school. just smells like a bath and body works spray. i didnt get any lychee at all, just artificial candy, and ive been searching for a good lychee scent for the summer.

mariag19

I’m in love. Fantasy is so sweet. You get cupcake notes once it’s dried down but it still maintains that soapy fruity smell. The longevity is crazy, a whole school day from a couple of spritzes, man! As a 23 year old, this smells like something I would’ve smelt on my auntie (she was around 16 during 2008, I would’ve been 7) it whipped me right back to sitting on her lap while she’d try to do homework! Took me back to dancing to her cool CDs in her pink bedroom, with all the cool posters. Took me back to the day she thrust most of her stuff into the bin and emptied out her room for college. Sad, but brings back the memories. A joy to wear.

orangeblossom6

Very strong cupcake style scent. Not my type of scent since it's too juvenile for my taste, but it is so nice to smell regardless. I'm a big believer that Britney Spears has one of the stronger lines of celebrity fragrances!

swrights

At first spray on my skin, it’s instantly cupcake! I genuinely can’t smell anything but cupcake, but it’s that addicting smell I can’t get over. I got a sample off TikTok shop, and god is it yummy! The icing off a vanilla cupcake you’ve made at home is the best way to describe it for me. I don’t get any fruity smell personally, but again maybe that’s my blocked nose. So so lovely as a perfume, great price, and you do get what you pay for. Plus, it’s sweet, but not overbearingly so. It’s like what you’d be bought for Christmas as a first perfume. The bottles nice, comes in at second place after Jungle by Britney. Nice perfume!

oliviarose

Purchased a sample. It is sweet but not unbearably so. Nowhere near as sweet as I thought it would be (i still have no idea what cupcake is supposed to smell like!). I wouldn't go out of my way to obtain it but if I saw one for $15 or $20 Aud I'd probably go for it.

sarrah_92i

Still my signature scent, forever, and ever !

Lilah_lilah2023

A lot of litchi, jasmine, chemically sweet notes. Personally I find it juvenile and sickly sweet. But it's fairly priced.

emjodway

For the price I think she’s worth having in your arsenal. Floral leaning when first sprayed, then a bit fruity, then the majority of the day on the skin I really got that vanilla cupcake note. Lasts decently long especially on clothes.

astralmonad870

Gourmand describes any perfume that smells edible. So why is someone asking why there's mango? That's a silly question.

fuzzyduckling

i already left a review where i said this perfume wasn’t for me but i recently sprayed it on myself at a store and oh my god!!!!!! its so warm and sweet without being cloying i think i must have been overspraying in the past or something and not allowing it to develop. perfume is so interesting how at one point in ur life u might think u hate something and then u smell it again and suddenly you’re buying it bc ur obsessed and you realise this is the scent you’ve wanted all along.
i truly don’t understand the ppl that call this perfume ‘cheap smelling’ i think it’s just beautiful it has a certain warmth and depth that is comforting while still being youthful but not childish . most popular ‘luxury’ or expensive smells to me are harsh or sour or just old smelling 🤷♀️
my advice is stop reading all these fragnatica reviews and just try it out in the store ON YOUR SKIN not a testing strip!!! if it’s not for you then it’s not or you and that’s fun bc it means ur fav perfume is still somewhere out there :))))

aurorad6317

i smelt it and it smells weird like why is there mango if its meant to be gourmand but wtv

liquidangel

sweet, feminine but boring. Reminds me of one of the worst times in my life but the bottle is cute

alisasergeyeva

It’s that kind of perfume that’s giving cheap sweet perfume from a cosmetics store, but in a very good way! It’s sweet, delicious, sexy, perfect for those who like the 2000s bimbo aesthetic, at least that’s what I feel like when I’m wearing it lol. Longevity and sillage are decent for an EDP worth 20$. It also stays longer on clothes and hair, but does tend to become musky and bitter on clothes after some time.
My daily fragrance for sure, considering the price I’m not afraid to overspray :)

Annie Vides

🐱 Opinion:I finally decided to give this one a try and to my surprise I enjoyed it more than I thought it's delicious you should get it.
😻Scent: It's creamy delicious cupcake smell, super sweet just as I love. 🧁
😺 Lasting time: Sadly it only lasts around 3 hours on me even if I wear a moisturizer before applying it.

grandfinnally

like walking through a mall. in tv shows where they are drinking and the can just says "beer" in the same thread i feel like this could be "perfume" but i honestly mean it as a compliment, sweet and simple and i do wear it when the occasion calls for it.

fuzzyduckling

not for me
my younger sister however pulls it off, it matches her whole vibe: girly sweet vanilla gourmand
on me it smells silly bc it just doesn’t match my vibe or my body and i am prone to severe headaches so yeah not for my headache girlies out there
the bottle is STUNNING
smell: 4/5 (it’s a nice smell just not for me)
bottle: 100/5
a staple in any perfume collection if you have at least one britney perfume i trust you

FrostedNightshade

This reminds me of a shampoo used in a nice salon from the early 2000s: clean, sweet, artificial floral fruity goodness. The florals add to the shampoo vibe, but it all melds together nicely (albeit in a slightly plastic-y way). Think of playing with your favorite Barbie doll as a kid right after a shower: sweet and girly with a hint of cheap plastic. I never feel sophisticated wearing this, but that's not a bad thing - I kind of love it.

I personally don't consider this a gourmand, however; it doesn't smell edible at all to me. I can't seem to detect any vanilla or cupcake, not even after drydown. As a gourmand lover, that's a bit disappointing... but I still enjoy the vibe of this regardless.

Briannaf07

Literally the worst smelling perfume ever. It must be the nostalgia everyone is smelling, because this is repulsive and cheap as HELL. It would be a joke to call this a true gourmand, much less a SWEET SCENT? Just a disgusting floral mess.

vera.rnova

Smells like a pretty pink cupcake. Very girly and a bit childlike (to me).

hysteria1988

An amazingly nostalgic, sweet cupcake fragrance that I have re-purchased over and over, it doesn't disappoint. quite a young fragrance but Ill continue to repurchase this as long as it is available!

Luncheonforest

Delicious, sweet, cozy smell that always puts me in a good mood. Did I mention it's sweet?

parkerpears

i really wanted to like fantasy, every review i've seen says it smells sweet, fruity, and cupcake like. they were all wrong.
all it smells like to me is peppery-sweetness? emphasis on the pepper.
its not particularly plesant and it gave me a headache. definitally not youthful or good for teenagers.

unlimitedfrysauce

My most complimented perfume to date, which generally shocks people. Don't discount celebrity fragrances - they can be bangers, and so affordable too. This one is office safe (the same way nice shampoo/body wash/lotion is office safe) but better. Definitely sweet, creamy, cupcake vibes - if you like gourmands, you'll like this. Good one to keep in mind for last minute gifts. I own the OG, Midnight, and Intense, and would rate them (1) Midnight, (2) OG, and (3) Intense. I should add that my mother-in-law, who doesn't often wear fragrances, smelled this and immediately ordered a bottle. For my scent profile this is a winner, and a classic; backup bottle worthy.

Mhka2004

a very good blind buy, the favorite from my collection.
If you like fruity, sweet perfumes, this is for you.
Sexy,playful,pouch.

bottle:10/10
smell:100/10

(I have the britney spears collection of seven of her perfumes and they all smell amazing.🥹)

VirgowithLeo

I bought it to layer but noticed it reduces sweetness of my other perfume instead of adding to it.

Won't be repurchasing this
I also only got the cupcake note just once and idk if it was my perfume or the cafe nearby when I wore this lol

So yeah dissappointed

Rsc123

Al Wataniah
Abaan similar notes similar smell but this lasts longer than Fantasy

perfumejunkie90s

This is a fruity and very sweet fragrance that reminds me of when I was 5 lol my cousin used to wear this one so I have some sort of nostalgia with it, now I don't know if I got the OG 2005 one or the reformulated one, the white choclate and cupcake is quite strong in the one I got, either way I like this one but don't love it just YET
Update: I'm 99% sure that mine is the og from 2005! No wonder I'm not getting any kiwi

AngelCakeKitty04

It's definitely not a "kids" perfume or very gourmand I'd say 16 - 25 age I've had this years at least 4 bottles of it and I wouldn't recommend blind buying as it's not all fruit and white chocolate cupcakes like the notes say it's floral shampoo with a kind of bitter fruity smell (kiwi and litchi) and synthetic white chocolate sweetness after you can only smell the cupcake note if you really think about it if that makes sense so the average person walking by won't notice I always keep a bottle for the nostalgia very much early 2000s cool older sister who sneaks out and drinks WKD vibes 💖💙💋

Bkboynxtdoor

Another review on another formulation!
Fantasy has intrigued me so much again since revisiting it this year. I’ve done a review on a new batch, on a 2005-6 batch and now I’ve come into possession of a 2009 batch. Made in France.
This one is very similar to the original, again very ripe kiwi and fruit (maybe due to the age). It’s not off putting, but maybe not as smooth as it was when it was freshly made. After the kiwi, the lychee and oris as well and other fruity notes are coming in. Once the dry down hits, it’s the musk, cupcake and white chocolate. It teeters back and forth between cupcake and kiwi for a bit, then full on goes into white chocolate and musk. This formulation was good. I wish they wouldn’t have tampered with it so much! The new versions do not last as long as these older ones do Ive noticed. They smell very similar, the newer ones fruits are not ripe, while the older ones are. I’m not sure if there’s an between but that’s the biggest difference I’ve noticed with each bottle I own. Again, the new is very similar to the originals. However, I think it just doesn’t smell as alluring as it once did because this type of gourmand was very new in 2005, and now there’s so many on the market. This is popular, but not for everyone! I’ll gladly use this sweet potion up and save the 2005 version for collection purposes.

Seneya

I really don't find any white chocolate or cupcake notes. All I find are kiwi and a bit of litchi. Because of the musk, it smells powdery/shampooey. It's nice and inoffensive but nothing special. I would wear it after shower on a hot day. I wasn't wowed by it, though.

Update: You know what? I am really enjoying the scent. It just won my heart. I was too quick to judge but now I learned not to judge a perfume instantly.

dovana

I wanted this to be super delicious thick white chocolate melting on the warm vanilla cupcake that is served on a wooden plate with some jasmine on the side. Instead, even though it smells sweet, it is also kind of fresh and clean at the same time, and it is a bit too “shampooey” for me.

littlesparks

A cheap and safe blind buy if you want to feel like you’re back in 2006. Sweet without being sickly to my nose, I don’t get kiwi, just cupcake, clean jasmine and generic berry fruit. Cute & fun in an adorable bottle. I wish it lasted longer, I get sub 4 hours on skin AND clothing.

JessiB

I get zero fruit, tropical and fresh from this fragrance. Instead, this fragrance is a whole cupcake bakery with sugary decorations and sprinkles. I just bought my second bottle today (the previous 100ml lasted 10 years!) and its as yummy as when I first wore it. Still a classic in my books and one I will forever love.

It’s good when someone who wear this just walk pass you and make some scented trail. If you have to sit with this smell all the time or can’t escape, you might vomit. Speed throwing up.

I hate cupcake note in this. Makes everything too sweet too cloy. It can make to the top of my favorite but….not you cupcake

Bkboynxtdoor

I’m here to debunk the reformulation theory.
I recently purchased a NIB sealed edition of fantasy from 2005. Green bow on box with the fold open design, green crystals around the neck of the bottle - her original form in all her Britney glory. Now as this perfume is almost 25 years old, I am sure it has changed chemically a bit- but it hasn’t gone bad (at least to my nose). The initial spray is primarily only the kiwi, quince and lychee. The kiwi hits first but it’s not as tart as the current formulation. It’s ripe but it’s there. The fruits play around with each other a bit, then the creaminess of the white chocolate, orris and cupcake start coming through- but they’re taking their time to come in. The white chocolate comes in at full force, with the ripe kiwi. The sweetness only grows from here on, soon leaving the fruits to play in the background.
NOW- compared to today’s formulation, they are 98% similar. The original is not a straight up chocolate cupcake bomb right away as some people say it is. I would say the quality of the og is better, as the notes take their time to develope and linger much longer. The new is almost the same, the noticeable difference being the newer kiwi note being not as ripe as the older, it is much more tart. However, they are almost exactly the same after the initial spray. I feel like nostalgia is the only true difference when it comes to fantasy. No perfume smells the same to one nose forever. As a collector I’m happy to own an OG bottle, but the scent of current formulations does it justice.

xcharlottestewart

This fragrance is definitely great for the price of it and a lot of people definitely know of it. Besides the great price I do believe this fragrance is more for girls rather than woman. It is very artificially sweet but it does smell great, you can tell it’s cheap and not expensive which isn’t always a bad thing considering it’s a great price!

Can'tstopFragranceAddict

I absolutely love this fragrance, this instantly makes me smile and so happy and I feel so pretty when I wear this and I get endless compliments, men notice and always compliment! This and Pink Sugar men love! this is an incredible fragrance, I’m in my 30’s and I still adore this love potion. It smells so sweet and it’s not for everyone but it will always have a place in my heart 🩷 You are never too old to love Fantasy so go get yourself a bottle!! 🩷

ogidzan

It's so nauseously sweet. I got it as a blind buy and learned a lesson. it could be nice but it's too sweet and powdery. Smells like something an elder woman could wear.

Cloverdosee

Could totally see this becoming an everyday fragrance for me.. I'm obsessed! 💗

Edit: ok sorry but I literally had to come back to hype her up more because I’m not joking I CANNOT stop smelling my arm!! At first you get that burst of fruit.. mainly kiwi and litchi.. and those fruity notes linger to the end for the most part, but the dry down??? OH MY GODDD I smell like a f*cking white chocolate cupcake with a fruity filling.. this is DIVINEE! Obsessed with the musky undertone in the dry down as well like it just smells soooo sexy.. my god this is perfect!

zrgvrt.grj

The opening is horrendous. Like someone else said, it smells like bug spray. But, after you let it sit on your skin for a while it is actually quite nice. It is what you expect: vanilla cupcake with white chocolate frosting + a layer of tart fruits in the background. My only issue with the fragrance is the selected fruits: kiwi, litchi, and quince are too sour and shampooey, I wish they used strawberries, mangoes, and melons instead. The dry down is nice, but a bit basic, sweet & powdery mostly.

Coquine05

This is a fresh, sweet and unique fragrance. I used to love it but now I’m in unisex fragrances now.
I have a 80ml bottle and live in London, if you want it please message me privately.

cmccoskey

I love this perfume after the first wear. I wore it for a full day and found that hours after I sprayed it, I was smelling the white chocolate and cupcake middle notes. It did smell very soap-y at the beginning, but mellowed out and smelled more like lychee when the middle notes came in. I wore this on a warmer day, and I think it mended with the weather perfectly.

veronica9p

Was Fantasy (and Midnight Fantasy) reformulated?? I had both of them years ago and loved them... I recently purchased both and I found them extremely irritating/alcohol-y/chemical-y.

They irritated the hell out of my nose/throat/sinuses! I'm talking about "get-stuck-to-the-back-of-your-throat" type of irritating. What gives? They seem to be loaded with alcohol now.

Has anyone else experienced this recently? Do you notice a difference between the perfume from back then vs. now?

I also re-purchased Curious after over a decade, but I reacted just fine to that one.

BP777

So lovely. When I first got this, I really hated it. It smelled so synthetic and so plastic like, so I let it sit and macerate for a couple weeks. When I came back to it, I was so pleased with it. The fruits came alive and danced on me and I was bathed in candy, cupcakes and frosting. Its sooo sweet but yes Lord that fruit balances everything out nicely. The main notes I get are: Kiwi, Litchi, Cupcake, Orchid, and a smidge of wood. The longevity is about 5 hours, but could def get more if you tried.

yunapie

For those of you that wants the cupcakey scent from preformulated Fantasy, layer it with Supreme Vanilla from Zara!! <3 addicted!

itsheragain

I’m not sure if anyone can relate to this but this scent was heavenly when I had my old bottle from around 5-6 years ago. Bought a new 100 ml bottle last year and I’ve let it sit for over a year now and safe to say it’s not the same at all. Doesn’t have the same bold kiwi kick in the start which is what I believe made the original so long lasting and good sillage. Kind of sucks now because this new bottle literally compares nothing to the OG fantasy and it doesn’t even stay on my skin for an hour.

Freakyindia

This perfume is totally for everyday wear. It's got this sweet and fresh smell that just feels good. It's giving off those nice, chill vibes, you know? There's really nothing to dislike about it. Plus, it's not overpowering or anything, which is a big win.

london.alaine

this is one of the “cheaper” perfumes that stays on me for more than 2 minutes. i wonder what note that is. unfortunately it’s not my most favorite scent
:(

i honestly don’t know why i don’t love it, but i just think it’s not as much of a simple fruity floral bc it’s fruity but also chocolate gourmand with super musky base notes, so i don’t hate the way it smells but it’s heavier and not as girly to me? idk it will probably stay in my collection but every time i wear it im like … i don’t love this

Scentstrumpet

I got my hand on a Made in U.S.A. bottle! They’re still all over eBay. The newer bottles are made in Spain, and those are the ones that smell sickeningly like synthetic kiwi and nothing else.

Batch code: N21216a
Production date: 2021-02-16

Mine opens with the smoothest, mellowest kiwi and litchi notes that is a perfect balance of tart and sweetness. Then, the pear enters with this juicy and bright presence. After just a few minutes, I begin to smell this creamy, soft (never harsh!) white chocolate note. The creamy - milky white chocolate and fruity notes stay for awhile before that famous cupcake note makes it appearance and stays until the end. Everything is supported by a very delicious and edible vanilla note, as well.
The floral notes are there, but more to balance the blend out, so they’re not very noticeable to me individually.

This smells a lot like the original “Fantasy” formulation, really. I’m not sure why there are such inconsistencies in the productions.

Average silage (arm’s length) and lasting power (three to four hours).

If you want the “Fantasy” that you’ve always known and loved, get the Made in U.S.A. version. If you happen to like the really strong fruity formula, get the Made in Spain.

MissRoby

Forever my guilty pleasure. As a 36 year old I do not even care the bottle belongs in a teenage pink bedroom. It’s just amazing. It’s summer, gourmand, candy sweetness that makes me happy. Today, I bought a big pot of bum bum cream to layer this with and it’s actually curing my seasonal depression lol. I smell like summer sweetness and I absolutely love it.
I’ve had my bottle for over a year now so it has had time to macerate, having that said it lasts all day on me with a moderate projection. Especially layered with a scented cream.

Aein

This smells like insecticide. I love sweet and gourmand scents but this is just too artificial to my nose. I feel like I’m smelling something that came straight out of Chernobyl.

m0userella

This is the #1 best best best perfume I've ever smelled!! I love perfumes but this one is the only one that's made me think "Okay, it's over.. this is the only one I need". This is just so heavenly. Its floral, fruity, sweet and just so pretty. It kinda smells like a fruity version of Kayali Pistachio Gelato. It has this creamy-ish clean scent to it. I've smelled the newest formula as well as the original formula. I prefer the newer one, because thats the one with the creamy clean scent. The OG is sweeter and has more of that cupcake note for sure making it more juvenile and generic. I still love that one but the new formula is just so unique and beautiful. What a masterpiece.

gostodemanga

this is the perfume that got me into perfumes. before this, i didn’t really care about fragrances. it’s amazing for its price, i got the full bottle for only 20€, same with the midnight fantasy perfume. i think i got a little tired of this perfume from wearing it so much, i would wear this everyday at one point. but i’ll never regret having it in my collection and i still go for it from time to time. it’s sweet and girly, just how i like my perfumes. it also reminds me so much of the mcbling era of the 2000s (which i absolutely love). something about this perfume just makes me wanna wear an all pink outfit to go with it. and the bottle is gorgeous

BetsyGH

Got about 1/2 way through a larger bottle and let it sit for a while in the shelf. Picked it up after many months and made me gag with the sickening sweetness. Gave it away to Goodwiil.

hevke

a staple in my collection. 10/10

Kellergirl

I don't smell any cupcake in this. Only sharp sour fruits.

brooklynbby

this smells remarkably like dryer sheets/ deodorant for the first two or so hours. not gourmand at all to me. It is primarily floral, and dare I say, almost powdery if anything, which I did not expect based on the notes and reviews. if you are looking for a warm, white chocolate cupcakey, fruity fragrance, be warned

sidesalad

Somehow I missed this when it was first released despite being smack bang in the demographic for it. No doubt I was convinced my alternative outsider status made me somehow superior to consider a commercial celebrity scent. But this is NICE. No one could object to this pleasantness. I mourn for the nostalgia I'm missing due to only smelling it almost 20 years later.

saho93

It’s fruity fresh gourmand if that makes any sense. I think it’s pleasant enough.
Overall, it’s too sweet for me, but there may be times when I will want something sweet.

dine.vanille

Best affordable fragrance I have. A perfect blend between sweetness and freshness, the opening with kiwi and lychee makes it possible to wear in warm weather. The white chocolate note is absolutely delicious! It's not a sophisticated fragrance but I don't carry, it's very fun and well done.
Longevity is moderate on my skin (3 to 6 hours), for the price it has that's an excellent performance.
Fantasy is definitely one of the most iconics celebrity perfumes ever

kultaoja

I love this scent so much, but it doesn't last on the skin :( it's gone 30 minutes after spraying

selena.266

most affordable and longest lasting perfume i own!!! i sprayed this at 11am and i smelt it all throughout the day until i went to bed! i’ve loved this perfume for years and it still stands as one of the best out there !!!

_Rae_Rae_

At first I actually didn't like this one but I let it rest for about a week and now I truly love it. On my skin it is VERY fruity and fresh, after a few hours there is a more gourmand cupcake note, but mostly I smell kiwi. I think this could be a great everyday scent. NOT for those who dislike sweet/fruity scents.

lucasthiring

This is a GORGEOUS perfume! No wonder its a cult classic. At first it smelled exactly like kayali pistachio without the pistachio. Even my husband agrees! Now after an hour it smells more like a cupcake but still has the kayali scent. I'm in love with it and its a must in every perfume collection

Jesssall

The Britney Spears Fantasy perfume smells like white chocolate/vanilla cake. As it dried down It has a vanilla cupcake with pink frosting kind of scent and smells of the colour pink. It is a tad fruity I pick up strawberry or something. Pink bubblegum? Although it is more vanilla cake scented. Maybe think of a vanilla cupcake with pink frosting which is slightly strawberry flavoured although no strawberry is listed. I sprayed this at around 11:40am and it lasted until around 3:00. It lasted around 3 hours.
Anyways the longevity and sillage are moderate with a good 4 sprays on skin. 🧁🩷

napalmsmoker

Very soapy to my nose, not picking up gourmand cupcakey notes. I think it gets better on the dry down, but not that exciting. Still, good sillage and longevity especially for the price.

January420

I don’t care, I love this scent and I don’t care who knows it lol. It’s cupcakes, it’s vanilla, it’s fruity (I’m not a fan of fruit scents) but in a subtle way, it’s powdery in a good way. Yes it maybe sweet yes it maybe a juvenile smell. But it’s one of those either love it or hate it. I have had this perfume for over 4 years now and it’s an every other day smell for me. Love it. It’s an 9/10 for me

judar

This smells so goddamn addictive 😮💨

Elfin Will

Yes but...
Beautiful opening.. but for like 10 minutes. Then it gets boring and sticky sweet. Heavy fruity gourmand fragrance, however, very suitable for teens. It marked some era but will never go outdated because it's so mainstream.

Edit: I actually find myself really enjoying this when you only apply 2 sprays! Brings me back to the good old days..

7.5/10

BekkyWithTheGoodScents

While it is a nice sweet perfume I find it some what basic smelling after a while? It's deffs cupcakey. In my opinion the Midnight Fantasy is better.

Blueberries

Opens with mixed fruits and tangy kiwi (green-fresh calone) followed by cupcake, light musk, vanilla. In dry-down the fruitiness is a bit cherry-like.
To me it's not a wow fragrance, but casual and cute. Even though sugary, I don't find it overly sweet, it's fruity-fresh with a delicious aspect.

jreyes366

If you had high hopes for this and it didn't deliver, let me tell you why.
First and foremost, this is a celebrity scent, it's not meant to be taken too seriously.
Second, it's pretty low cost especially compared to designer and niche brands which means the actual quality of ingredients are not going to to be what you're used to.
Third, if you don't like sweet, synthetic, fruity scents, you are going to hate this.

I suggest testing on your skin and wait 10 minutes. If you hate it after 10 minutes then put the perfume away for a few weeks. Bring it back out and test it again on your skin. Wait 10 minutes and see if you get caught up in this Fantasy, or end up in a nightmare.

catina

It’s not terrible, but I don’t really like it. It’s kind of juvenile. Sweet but it has this generic smelling background.

juliajulianna

Sugary scent but to be honest - nothing so special to me. The good thing is it reminds me of good times when I was a teenager. Definitely overhyped though.

saradaiglestevens

I loved this scent in high school - like I woult drench myself in this and the midnight version every day. Haha! I do not think I would wear it now personally, as it is a very young fragrance - or, well, I just outgrew it. Given the nostalgia factor for me, I came here to write that this scent is IMO identical to Volusma Baltic Amber :) So, if you love this perfume and want your home or wherever to smell like this, BUY the candle; I do not think you will be disappointed!

xAsafi

It's a sweet mix of cupcakes, white chocolate and juicy fruits like kiwi and quince. All the scents blend together nicely creating a well balanced everyday scent, a one that is very feminine and undoubtedly charming.

It smells a bit like candy (though sometimes it reminds me more of a vanilla scented doll) and it's definitely very sweet but it's also a lot fresher than I expected. It's a somewhat clean fragrance, at least right after spraying (despite being gourmand) and it makes me feel like I just came out of shower and put on a scented lotion then burrowed under fresh sheets. There is also a hint of something else (is it the orris root? the woody notes?) in the dry-down that makes the perfume more mature and in turn, suitable for all ages.

Overall, it's a really good fragrance and I like it but I feel like I have smelled something similar before.

Antoshka2

Far too girly and obnoxiously sweet as a perfume for me but I spray this on my bedding and around the house. It’s a beautiful scent but it’s definitely not for a man to wear as perfume. It’s so sweet and cloying even though I’m fond of it I still think less of women who do wear it because it’s so overwhelming and inconsiderate but it is lovely at home. So sweet.

jreyes366

This undervalued gem is absolutely incredible! OG Fantasy is so sweet, fruity, cakey, and downright effervescent.
The dry down is a little woody but mostly sweet and vanilla fluff with a hint of fruit.
I highly recommend this gourmand because 1, it's iconic, 2, it's by Britney Spears, 3, it smells like a slice of heaven, and 4 it's lower cost!
Give her a try at the very least, if you like gourmands, you will enjoy this!

†♡

- OPENING: kiwi, very fruity scent, citrus acid, like a candied fruit cake.
- MIDDLE (2h later): white chocolate cupcake, very sugary scent, no more fruits
- DRY DOWN (8h later): beautiful white chocolate musky scent, so sensual ! but now the sillage is intimate...
its a hyperfeminine scent, an hot pink girl would wear this. its too feminine, i can't recognize myself in this perfume even if im feminine because its a confident hyperfeminine type of scent, it isnt delicate. but the scent is so good, even if i don't really like the opening because i don't really like fruity scents. its sad that the opening last 1h30-2hours.

Jade-Ange D

Well, I am disappointed…

I blind bought Fantasy because of the notes, the trashy early 2000´s Mcbling vibes, and the good reviews I kept seeing on YouTube and Fragrantica.

And I have to say that the fragrance in itself, doesn’t stink, it actually smells really good, but I was left wanting more…

Yes it’s sweet, but not as I envisioned it to be. I leans to the gourmand side, although I feel like the fruits are stealing the spotlight. The sweet notes are present (Cupcake and White chocolate) but I feel like the fruits really are blurring the potential of this scent. It could've been more gourmand, if it wasn't for that loud Kiwi that smells nice, but made my expectations fall to the ground. I wanted this perfume to be more cake-y, more like a warm cupcake that just got out of the oven, with some white chocolate chips melted inside of it.

In the opening, I smell the juicy fruits, the Kiwi, Lychee and Quince are bright and fun, they smell youthful and slightly messy because it overbears the gourmand part of the fragrance.
Then for the gourmand part, I smell a sort of powdery and synthetic smelling White Chocolate.. The kind of white chocolate that’s sickening because it feels powdery, kind of chalky when you chew it, and doesn’t taste like a nice Belgian or Swiss chocolate.. I feel like this note and candle wax smells alike…
Then the Cupcake smells leans to a more synthetic note…
On the dry down. I get the florals (Orchid, Jasmine and Orris Root), Musk and Woodsy notes.

The good thing about this fragrance is that it performs well on clothes, but it itches my skin, it feels nostalgic even if I never owned or wore it during my childhood. It still smells like a trashy teen, or a popular girly in High School during the early 2000´s, someone that would blast the Destiny’s Child, TLC, and other similar albums on her Porsche Boxster, think Elle Woods.
It’s still a good perfume, it smells good even if a bit to messy on the notes, still an icon in the field of celebrity fragrances.

However, it’s deceiving considering the gigantic amount of reviews for it, I had such high expectations. II was waiting for a warm and gourmand delightful fragrance

8/10 for the iconic vibes and bottle !

Tashateex

I tried a sample of this and decided to give it try when first starting to explore gourmand fragrances.

I can't get over how great this performs for a cheapie. It will last all day long and will fill the room. It is definitely sweet, white chocolate, and fruity.

I would say this is a youthful fragrance but even I wear this being middle aged, but tend to layer it.

theperfumemaniac

I've already reviewed this, but I can't believe the longevity this has (the scent itself and the smell). Went to the perfume store and I saw so many people with giftsets of this fragrance. This is the most iconic celebrity scent in my opinion.

Beautiful smell and longevity.

Marie0189

I wish I could have smelled this when it first came out and experienced the sweet and sugary cupcake perfume that everyone seems to be saying this WAS. The newer version seems to be anything but, it opens SUPER sharp with the sour scent of the kiwi and quince note which is fine, a little overpowering but I expected it, however the cupcake and white chocolate note are near nonexistent, this is just a sour, floral perfume on my skin and that makes me sad because I was looking forward to the fun, sweet gourmand fragrance I heard it was but no. There's also something so synthetic smelling about it, no matter how much time passes, which isn't long with the longevity on this, every sniff is just sour, floral and leaves a weird synthetic floral mess in the back of your nose. Not a fan at all.

xolugya

Despite being a fan of overwhelmingly feminine perfumes, this was a no from me. Due to the combination of fruity notes + floral notes, the perfume just becomes a huge pile of mess. Fantasy is the epitome of eating two chocolate bars with nutella and m&m's in the middle. Too much going on.

kellyrwallis

A sugary sweet powerhouse. Unique and strong. Won’t be to everyone’s taste, I’m still testing this to see if it’s for me.

Loliky

Me encanta!!!

saria131

this has been one of my go tos since it came out. will always be one of my favorites

StarryDawn

For me, the initial vibe is waaay too musky for me and is an instant headache. But if I can get over that first 30min it's great 😂

yulikat

This was my signature scent throughout highschool and i got so many compliments! It mixed very well with my skin. I bought another bottle after many years and its just not the same. Im guess im too old for it now LOL

Emoody

The dry down smells like lentil curry and kiwi juice

Caramel lady

This smells very cheap to my nose.
Nothing special about it, just a “girl smell” to me.

Probably best for teenagers and little girls getting into perfumery. But grown women? There is an abundance of fragrance out there that I find much more enjoyable.

Just my opinion ☺️

violets1

The initial sprays it smells fruity but then the drydown is an incredible cupcake smell. I've had so many compliments with people stopping me as they wall by to ask me what I'm wearing.

KFerguson

There is a reason the FIRST Fantasy flanker is hard to get and rises in price every so many months. It’s AMAZING! A true work of art. I absolutely can say this is a delightful and delicious smelling fragrance! The cupcake is addictive and the vanilla really stands out in a unique form once is wears down. It is a classic and well-loved scent. 50/50 know this scent or ask where to get this. I truly recommend. It’s one of the best Britney Fantasy flankers ever. And that’s not just because it’s the first. It’s because it’s carefully and precisely formulated. I have to buy a few bottles when I place an order, it goes too quickly. It’s one that’s hard-core loved on my perfume/cologne shelves. A guy can get away with wearing this, I know I do! :)

rachelv

It's sharply sour at first but the sour sharpness disappears within the first 10 mins leaving a pleasant, sweet, sort of candy-like food smell. Don't overspray or it can cause headache for some. Not the most multi-dimensional in terms of smell profile, as apart from the initial sour hit, the sweet candy food smell lingers quite unchanged until it completely dissipates away, but longevity is good, so expect it to last until you wash it off. It may not be suitable for someone working in a job which requires them to be in authority or have a more serious demeanour, but it seems fine for casual events or night time party/clubbing as it adds a very young, playful dimension to the wearer. Unlike others, I never get compliments for wearing such candy sweet fragrances, even when I was young. I used to love this sort of smell when I was a late teen, and I wouldn't care what people thought about it on me. If I liked it, I sprayed it. Nowadays, I prefer other types of fragrances.

tessi123

Very sharp/ sour kiwi to start with but mellows out and becomes much creamier, almost smells like a smoothie or yogurt dessert with fruit! Very yummy but also smells clean, like a body care product. I really like it, girly cosy and fun.

Setaurus

The longevity on this bad girl is insane. The opening note can be a turn off though, since it's assails the senses with its strong sweetness. However the middle to base notes are worth it for me, vibrant gourmandiness. I had to learn the hard way not to overspray.

babypong

I’m happy to have such an iconic scent in my collection. Fantasy is sweet and fruity, but not as young as I expected. There’s some creamy and some woody notes here that make it mature enough for adults to wear. It’s pretty weak when I first spray it but when it dries everything starts to come out. This is one of those scents I love to keep smelling myself when I put it on. I wish it had more silage. It lasts around 4 hours on me. Honestly it’s a great fragrance and it performs well enough for the price

it's_me_leah

This is the scent to initiate sex with millenial men who like to use this emoji 😉

kyl13xd

To me this smells very sharp! When i got it i was looking forward to a very sweet and wearable perfume but i find myself not reaching for this that often. The opening makes my head hurt

Faeriecoma

I don’t mind this perfume it brings back childhood memories but it doesn’t smell as sweet as it did way back then. come to found out that it’s been reformulated along the way losing the forward cupcake note it once had. Now it’s all Kiwi that almost smells like melons? The cupcake is still very much there on the dry down. This perfume to me smells like an older sister. I’m gonna wear it in the summer to really enjoy how lovely it is. Just a cute girly perfume.

scnofthcrime

I never owned this when it came out, but I smelled it on plenty of others and liked the way it smelled. Not necessarily sophisticated, but delicious and fun. I was feeling nostalgic and decided to buy a bottle since this is cheap. Idk if the formula changed or if my skin chemistry doesn't agree with this. I get cupcake and white chocolate, but a very tart and strong kiwi is cutting through it all kind of ruining it for me. The kiwi smells out of place here and it takes 2ish hours for it to fade and start to resemble the gourmand fragrance I remember. I like the drydown of this, but I don't find myself reaching for this because it takes too long to get to the good part.

Moshpitbunny

I truely believe this perfume works for all ages and seasons, a timeless and easy to wear scent.

I do have the supposed reformulation from Spain which is said to not have as good lasting power as the original, I’ve found it stay it stays on skin for about 3 hours and clothes maybe a little longer, projection is about arms length for the first hour.

At first you get a fruity hit with the Kiwi note dominating the scent, after the dry down you get a wonderful fruity cupcake with chocolate frosting, however on my skin it comes up more of a milk chocolate almost like a the powdered SwissMiss hot chocolate rather than white chocolate - but that may have to do with the palmers coco butter I generally use daily.

Not the best office scent can me a bit “much” in my opinion, but great for going out during night or day.

Good starter perfume for a teenager but also nice to keep in the collection no matter what age - it’s not my favourite but that being said I don’t dislike it at all - my partner loves it compared to the normal vanilla scents I wear.

I would say it’s a very safe blind but for those who like sweet fruity scents or desert scents with a little more body then just straight up sugar.

7.5 / 10

Steph70126

I LOVE this perfume it smells soooo AWESOME! It just smelled so perfect to me that I even wanted to make it my signature scent but it doesn't last very long. The most it would last is 4 hours! That sucks because I really love the smell of this perfume and the bottle design is cute just wish it lasted a LOT longer then it would be perfect.

herheartflutters111

i wore this and wore this RELIGIOUSLY in junior year. i would overspray before school and then spray throughout the day. you could smell the cheap hairspray bubblegum cupcake scent and instantly know i was within a 10 mile radius lol i was that girl w the pink everything, french nails, pin straight hair and suffocating everyone with this. and i never grew out of it, instead i became that and way more LOLLL

Linda_80

One of my favourites🥰

Lauren_Trouble

Still such a fun fruity/gourmand scent! Sweet white chocolate & vanilla cupcake combo with fresh/sour kiwi!

"She's an icon, she's a legend and she is the moment"

LEM922

This scent is an absolute sugar bomb. Middle schoolers, prom queens, and hot girls everywhere were calling this their signature for who knows how long in its heyday. Even currently, strippers could single-handedly keep the sales of fantasy not only alive, but absolutely THRIVING. Sugary, sweet, campy, encapsulates the trashy millennial hot pink glitter vibe of the early to mid 2000s. It’s everything you could hope for and more. Britney walked so Ariana Grande could run. Britney was the FIRST face of celebrity fragrances with curious. An icon. A vision. A moment. You just had to be there. I sniff this and suddenly I’m back in high school, referencing the simple life and listening to to the T to the A, to the S T E Y girl you TASTY. Sweet nostalgia, carry me away.

For everyone saying that older men love this, you have to remember, when this came out, those older men were probably in college or their 20s-30s. So they definitely remember the baddies of their time that wore this on the regular. Positive scent association is a mother!

dexilio

You can call this cheap, tacky, immature and synthetic, but you can't deny the impact of Fantasy on celebrity perfumery. It is notable that most celebrity perfumes are priced at a lower range meaning the ingredients the perfumers had access to were also low-end, and that's why some celebrity perfumes smell less like perfumes and more like room sprays. James Krivda did an outstanding job on blending the ingredients so well together and made Fantasy playful uplifting and delicate. It is a staple to have in your collection if you are into the world of fragrances. I personally think this is a very easy-going feminine scent that can be worn on a variety of occasions. It is also a fun thing to layer with.

FunkyTomo

I disagree with the bit in the "cons" list that says under 25s only. I'm 46 and rocking my new/first bottle . Good affordable fun and girlie scent for all who want to wear it .

Dani83

This fragrance is so cozy and beautiful i haven’t smelt anything else really like it i have used it since it was released and will continue to use and buy

Raritydarling

Absolutely in love, perfect sweetness. Just smells delicious but it isn't cloying. Definitely good for all seasons. I'm usually hesitant with gourmands but this one is just so fresh because of the fruits. Signature scent worthy with great longevity and good sillage

isa_priore

braxypooh

i love love love this perfume, one of my favs! it is a nice fruity gourmand scent that i love. in the beginning, it smells a lot like kiwi, so if you want to smell like kiwi, this is the scent for you. 7-10 minutes after settling down, i smell that creamy, white chocolate, cupcake scent it is supposed to have. it smells like something a teen would wear in the beginning, but as it wears, it smells mature and like a snack. people always say i smell good when wearing this perfume. someone even said i smell like fruit loops lol! it lasts all day for me and is great for people who want a cupcake scent. the fruitiness doesn't last as long as i thought it was going to last, which is perfect for me. 🫶🏾

EDIT: i sprayed it on my clothes and on my neck and all i could smell was fantasy. i was so shocked, this lasts ALL DAY and it's such a cheapie i definitely would recommend it!!

Vkh9210

Theres no doubt this sweet, fruity and cupcakey scent is a classic of the young 2000s girl but its still an occasional guilty pleasure of mine. As a woman who now has moved on to more complex mature perfumes, for whatever reason men go crazy when i wear this one. Its a nostalgic smell!

finalgirl01

A sweet/fruity concoction that's a bit more mature than Midnight Fantasy, though I do think I prefer MF as it isn't as chemically. Had a bottle of this years ago and still remember it being a sweet, girly fragrance but wouldn't wear now in my early 20's.

Theonlydeija

Sooo nostalgic if u love sweet 2000s girly smells this is a must have, it’s affordable and is in the same smells as pink sugar for me. I always get complimented more when I wear my slutty perfumes like fantasy & pink sugar 👀than when I wear my higher end ones. Something I always keep on my shelf just in case I wanna be transported💕🤭

Dori002

Is this supposed to be sweet? It smells like a fruity shampoo and that's it. No white chocolate, no cupcake. Not sweet at all... I only get the kiwi, some flowers and a very plastic, artificial musk. Smells cheap & somewhat clean and boring.

LVEB, Pink Sugar, Sweet like Candy, La Petite Robe Noire Intense - those perfumes are sweet, but not this one, at least not for me.

Estiii

its very fruity like fruit cupcake and white chocolate very teen 2000s girly

szaraaa

such an iconic scent, i remember stealing my sisters bottle to use it

Chellebelle4u

I do like this fragrance but I just don't reach for it enough to buy it again. It's more for younger adults/older teens. Not something I'd wear out in public.

vtothek

Pure nostalgia in a bottle! It’s unapologetically sweet and I love it for that, a true sugarbomb from start to finish. It’s so unique though - whenever I smell it I know exactly what it is and get transported to 2007, my senior year of high school, where every girl is wearing this scent. It’s cute, feminine and fun! Cheap, maybe a bit? That’s fine too, since it’s so much fun. This is a constant in my fragrance collection because it’s just so good!

cybernymph

wanted a perfume that smells like an early 2000s whore. ordered this and it’s exactly what i wanted

kirstengraveman

first off i wanted this perfume based on the bottle alone. sure it’s girly, juvenile, and y2k and pink but i am in love with it. i love the rhinestones and the shape of the bottle looks super cute on my dresser!

when i opened this perfume for the first time and smelt the cap i immediately smell the fruits especially the red lychee. a little sour and tart. i also smell the musk and im also getting a faint peppery spicy scent maybe due to the musk base note?

the heart smells like vanilla with a little bit of chocolate and cupcake. to me it isn’t as strong as the opening notes the fruits which kind of saddens me i wish the cupcake and chocolate part were more intense on me.

the longevity of fantasy is just okay for me. i’m glad it lasts super long on others though. for me, i feel like i can only smell it for an hour or 2. sometimes on my clothing faint hints. i do like how this scent is versatile for day or night time use. not cloyingly sweet but refreshing and lovely.

overall i still love this perfume. it’s beautiful and iconic and i like britney spears. i think it also is decently priced . and i love how it comes in multiple size bottles i want to collect all of the britney spears perfumes now.

Shahrzaad

Please create a page for Anab by Ahmad al Maghribi which is a dupe for this one.

Anabee

I bought this for fun to try it out, reminds me of how a Barbie doll’s hair would always smell! I find it pleasant and nostalgic somehow. So if you want to smell like Barbie, pair this with VS Bombshell and you’re ready to rule the world, … at least in your imagination ..life is your creation, ..come on Barbie ….

RowdyWoman87

I’m not really a fan of the opening as it smells very “perfumey” and sickly. A few hours in and it starts getting better (I think it may the cupcake note - it’s good)!

Luxfare

A female colleague was wearing this and I thought she was wearing Lacoste homme intense which I have and smells so close. Both great fruity scents

Groovymarlin

After seeing lots of chat about this I finally bought it. Surprisingly nice, and if the longevity is as great as reported, then I love it. I'd encourage anyone who thinks they need Black Opium to save your money and buy this instead.

I am a male who's just started experimenting with wearing women's fragrances.
I bought this as it's a nice cheapie on ebay - really impressed!
It is very, very sweet - which may not be to everyone's taste - however the longevity is amazing, easily 10+ hours with only two sprays.

i do wish the fruitier, less cupcake-y opening lasted longer than 2 seconds, it's honestly exquisite. but some things just can't be that serious

oobaceb

This one gets lots compliments and is liked by a majority of people who smell it on me. Unfortunately, this scent is so sickly sweet to me and I can't stand to smell it on myself so I have only worn it a handful of times, mostly because it's my husbands favorite (go figure). The sweet notes completely overpower all the other notes for me and smelling edible or like a cupcake is not my thing and I feel nauseas every time I catch a whiff. But if you're into gourmand/sweet scents then this is a great one- suuuper affordable and really great longevity!

Nosestalgic

I have always gotten compliments on this and people never want to believe it is a Britney perfume. It is sweet and warm and perfect for fall and winter. I find this is to be a cozy scent and is less juvenile smelling that Pink Sugar. Smells like Pink Sugar's older sister. This scent lasts forever on me as well.

AlliCat1215

I know a lot of people love it but to me it was somewhere between good and ok. There’s something synthetic in the notes that I don’t care for.

_Aerides

A classic, It's gorgeous on fabrics, like an edible fabric softener, breezy and sweet. However on my skin once it dries down it's more like baby wipes with a dash of fancy aftershave, which I surprisingly enjoy! I like to wear it to sleep, very cozy 🧸

💲Purchased at Ross multiple times for about $16 for the 3.4oz EDT.
👃No matter that this perfume was the most cloying scent I’ve ever owned, it is delicious. I would describe it as goopy candy sweet with a hint of warmth. It is easy to overdo it with applying this. You only need a tiny amount and it will stay on your skin all day and on your clothes til laundered. Because I used it so sparingly, both times I’ve owned this, it oxidized (to my nose atleast) before I got a chance to even get halfway through the bottle. Idk, what it is but I guess it takes more for most people to sense the “rustiness” of an old perfume, because no one else agreed with me that it had oxidized & both times I passed the remainder of the bottle on to a new owner who said it smelled perfectly fine.
All that said, I wouldn’t mind owning a bottle of this again- maybe the tiniest one I can find though or lk a travel size that I can use in perfume oil amounts. It would make a great sweetener to mix in with other fragrances.

SaraMiriam8

is the kiwi strong on this one? im allergic to kiwis but never tried it in fragrances lol i dont know if i should risk it/or if i will like it...

Killed the cat on this one. I assumed I wouldn't be interested, but I was ever so fascinated by my impressions of Fantasy Intense that I just needed to see what the OG, or whatever semblance of it, had to be.

My ol' drugstore bottle happens to be made in Spain. My head immediately goes to reformulation, but I can take the trade-off since Intense is truly that strong anyway. I immediately get a cute juicy fruit that is somewhat tangy, and not as cloying as I expected it to be. The familiar vague, sweetish heart in Intense is the same, but obviously softer. I interpreted that as a "berry eraser" from my childhood, now I take it to be the infamous cupcake accord (sorry, but it's unlike any real cupcakes I've smelled). Really pleasant though, not at all going candy or sour as I would've expected. In fact it makes it much easier to wear.

Lastly is a lovely, slightly powdery drydown, while weak, is still soft, sweet and vanillic. My tweenhood happened to be dominated by the post-2005 celeb perfumes riding on patchouli, so again I was surprised at how unoffensive this ended up being at the end. In comparison to Fantasy Intense, which smells very nearly the same on the middle notes. Exception to the decrease of the bright fruity top notes, and vanilla replaced by a very strong, sensual, woods and patchouli drydown (the note wears me for an entire day, personally 😬). I can also see how the latter matures this perfume from its inception to its elder millennial stage. Are both needed? Perhaps not, unless you'd like to use OG as a touch-up. Fantasy Intense lasts longer and will scream nighttime, otherwise, if an earthy daytime trail is preferred...

The scent is still an easy buy for those potentially not into the newly reigning trend of cloud musks. Or for those who needed the line cast back to early 2000s nostalgia, like me. Their noses were truly driven by the descriptor "fruit juice." I have finally succumbed to my liking for this.

sophiac0

I put this on yesterday, woke up this morning and still smell it on me

eausoislamic

A little bit sour which I dislike, but smells good when layered with a fruit body mist that counteracts the bitter litchi note. I dont smell woody, or gourmand. just a fruit bomb. you will definitely smell it a lot throughout the day, good silage.

KIWI-Topped WHITE-CHOCOLATE Cupcake. Opens with a tropical-fruity burst of kiwi, red-litchi & quince, that deepens into the sweet gourmand heart of white-chocolate & cupcake rounded out by fresh florals with orchid & jasmine. The florals here bringing some soft purples, and deeper purples from the grape-leaning jasmine. This all rests on a fruity-floral support base of musk, orris root & soft woods. Overall I get a kiwi-topped white-chocolate cupcake, and while the bottle is gauche, the scent is delightful - the freshness of the tropical fruits cutting the sweetness of the gourmand facets and helping to keep it from getting too sweet. Has above average performance for year-round wear.

Contrast to Police Passion:
This is inspired by Fantasy with good approximation and excellent performance. There''s a faint aromatic accord plus caramel in Police Passion while Fantasy has white-chocolate, but the overall effect is very similar. Both have excellent performance.

Overall: affordable, delightful fruity-floral gourmand scent, with above average performance for year-round wear. For what it is, it's a love for me. 8.5/10. Enjoy!

FlowerSeeker

I have the EDP in a teardrop shaped bottle. Lots of vanilla! Strong and long lasting. I don’t usually go for gourmand scents, however this is fun and pleasant. Reminds me of a vanilla body wash, like BBW Warm Vanilla Sugar or something. Hubby loves it. I’ll be wearing this again!

The13thHour

Fantasy will always be a classic and it will always have a place in my collection. This is a spring and summer time fragrance for me. I get the fresh red litchi, white chocolate and cupcake notes. The orchid comes in later and softens the rest of the notes. This is so nostalgic and it brings back a lot of 2008 memories.

aircon

blind buy - this begins as a super fresh, fruity and floral uplifting scent, like a tropical garden - after a while it smells 'clean', like a new house that has a nice glade air freshener or something lol. if i think hard enough about gourmands i can sense a little bit of the white chocolate / cupcake notes but not really - this imaginary house has a vanilla yankee candle burning in another room maybe? its pleasant, strong and good value enough to be my everyday scent the rest of this summer anyway

veda

Not good longevity at all.You need to spray at least 20 and again nothing.
They shouldn't make this reformulation
2 days and my bottle is half.
Ok then.

Trinitykay08

This smells like heaven in a bottle and I am so in love with it. I have 2 of her other perfumes and I honestly thought this perfume was gonna be bad, but it's very good. I'm not sure how to describe the scent but it's very 2000's, and it's so affordable lol, you should def buy it!

lavenderincenseluver

LOVE IT. smells like kiwi when first sprayed on skin, for me i get the white chocolate when the kiwi ”fades” (sorry, i am not very familiar with the terms😅) it smells fresh and sweet, kinda like being in a flowery garden while drinking a kiwi smoothie. Also after it fades it smells like a white chocolate cupcake, atleast for me. Like one of those cupcakes that have that melted chocolate inside and when you cut into them it just melts! Def one of my new faves!❤️also the bottle is gorgeous and i feel like the small green rhinestones fit the flowery and kiwi scents🥰

hotbaby1

Too much cupcake. My pillow smells like cupcake. The dry down is all musk. I got tired of it after I realized how strong is on the cupcake. The EDT comes in the same packaging. According to the notes it has caramel instead of cupcake. I much prefer the EDT. It’s sweet and settled, light and you don’t smell like pure caramel. The EDT is also not heavy on the musk. The scent though is less stronger, and doesn’t last very long, but I like it. I just can’t stand the cupcake note in the EDP. On clothes it lasts forever, but I can’t stand smelling like a bakery. To me this scent is a joke.

A note*** the EDT has the same exact packaging. Just make sure you check the packaging to ensure you get the correct desired Fantasy.

Erinlu

The new reformulations made in Spain, smell sweeter and with less kiwi? Or it's my impression?
Although the longevity feels shorter...

Cristina S.

I had this for a while as a teenager, so it's a bit of a nostalgic smell for me. It's sweet, pink, fun. The bottle is perfect, it represents the fragrance very well. It's nothing to write home about, it's a simple girly, fruity gourmand. I remember it smelling like a synthetic peach in the opening, but that note is not mentioned here.
I think it deserves its success!

Obsidian100

Warm and fruity. Not a strong white chocolate or bakery smell on me. Sweet tropical fruit juice that is warm and not poqery, musky or spicy. Linear. Easy and simple to wear. Similar level to black opium and Jimmy Choo blossom but I prefer those personally, and then I prefer others above those again. Happy to wear but not a favourite :) easy blind buy or gift for younger teen provided she is a Brittany fan ☺️

OloraGolosina

This smells like cupcakes freshly baked, in fact, it smells like a whole bakery filled with freshly baked cupcakes; it is a linear fragrance which is great because I love it from start to finish, it is strong for a celebrity perfume meaning the performance and projection are up there, high in the ranking. This perfume throws me back to an era where everything was happiness and excitement, silliness and magic. It's a lovely gourmand which holds a special place in my heart, it also reminds me of Britney Spears's good times, she was simply the best; apart from her music, I think her fragrances are part of her amazing legacy.

mariananena

Esperaba mucho de este perfume. Huele bien, pero no es la gran cosa y se va un poco rápido. Recuerdo que tenia uno que olía similar cuando era niña.

I dont think i can live without this perfume

Candypopinlove

There is a reason why this perfume is one of the top sold celebrity perfumes. This scent is just perfect! It’s very affordable and is great for gifting and blind buying. The cupcake note is bomb.com! I reach for it when I have no clue what to wear, as it can be worn casually, or even for fancier events. Its also got surprisingly good longevity and silage. Fantasy always gets me compliments, even more than some of my more expensive perfumes. It’s truly one of my fave perfumes, I will always repurchase it <3

Ceevee963

This fragrance has a way of grabbing hold of me and refusing to let go. I originally purchased it several years ago and went through a bottle, but didn't fall head over heels for it then. Fastforward to 2023 - I'm wearing this almost daily for the month of July. I enjoy mixing it with other Fantasy flankers as well as with AG Cloud Intense. The fresh kiwi and creamy white chocolate just do something for me. The warmth of the summer sun really brings out the sweetness, whereas when I wear this in colder months, the woody-ness really comes through. I hope to never be without a bottle of this in my collection.

Longevity is about 4-5 hours before turning into a sweet skin scent.

oddsoy

really confused why people think this smells bad? very tropical cupcake scent. i usually don't like super sweet, fruity perfumes but this one is really nice. i think the floral notes really bring a freshness i like and the overall youthfulness of this perfume is really refreshing!

7/10 (+5 for being an overall decent perfume, +1 for realistic kiwi note, +1 for being iconic)

amantedelte

I'll admit, this perfume was a bit of a memory lane nostalgia buy, when i re-purchased this recently.

The formulation is the same as it was in 2006, gourmand, think vanilla frosted cupcakes, hot chocolate and a hint of fresh fruits.

Most people would say it's a more youthful scent, but i am not one to gate keep a perfume by age! this has had many compliments from people older and younger than me (i'm an elder Millenial , don't come for me :)

Lotte_Liese

White chocolate, extremely sweet fruits and cupcakes. This is quite a juvenile smelling fragrance as it lacks depth to distinguish it from a £2.5 body spray from Superdrug.

ChloeL1uk

I used to use this perfume years ago in high school - everyone had this and curious as they were the first real celeb fragrances. I used to adore this fragrance!
I always love Island Fantasy, hidden fantasy, and I’ve been loving Naked Fantasy this past summer and decided to get the original fantasy again after seeing so many reviews on TikTok and remembered how much I loved it.
I’d seen some reviews where some had said they ‘couldn’t smell it and they’ve reformulated it so don’t expect much etc.’. But in all honesty it smells exactly the same as how I remember. Super sweet, chocolatey, like cupcakes. I still LOVE this fragrance! I have the 100ml in my bedroom, and the 30ml in my bag for when I’m out and about. I sprayed it at work today and my male coworker asked what it was because he’s buying it for his partner!
I always get compliments when I wear it and you can definitely wear it for all seasons and date night!

baekhyun

i got this recently because i was obsessed with it as a kid when my mom had it and i would always sneak sprays of it before going out. i don't know if it's reformulation or just me having too high expectations/misremembering what it smelled like, but it's not nearly as sweet or strong as i recalled. don't get me wrong, it's still nice and sweet, but this has a lot more emphasis on the fruitiness rather than the cupcake/white chocolate i recalled and doesn't seem to last as long either. but it's still a bonafide classic and pretty inexpensive, so it's worth it for nostalgia or if you've never had it before but enjoy gourmands!

jward03

This smells JUST like Ari by Ariana Grande to me, (although Fantasy technically came first..) Ari was my “signature scent” in middle school, (followed by Cloud; Grande’s perfumes were cheap at Kohl’s and I got a different one every Christmas because I liked them so much) So, Fantasy is kind of nostalgic in the way Ari is for me. Fantasy is a white floral that’s sugary sweet- I get a lot of jasmine and white sugar from it. Not so much of the white chocolate note. It just smells like perfume ¯_(ツ)_/¯ Just like most of Ariana’s fragrances (except maybe Cloud) this perfume should be left for just the teenagers to wear imo, but do whatever makes you happy.

6/10
Not bad, but not something I would reach for. +1 point for setting the standard for other celebrity perfumes

tanasha

The opening is really sharp, screechy, and abrasive imo. One of the top notes makes it smell sort of like a cleaning product. In the dry down, I do get the cupcake and white chocolate, but it’s also HEAVY on the musk. Something about a musky cupcake does not sit right with me. Not sure about this one.

Edit: I let this sit for 7 months and it’s much more pleasant! Less sharp in the opening and more cupcakey and overall more cohesive. Very into this now.

I don’t think older batches have significantly more cupcake/white chocolate, I just think they’ve been sitting long enough for the top notes to mellow.

I am getting a plastic doll head and/or playdough note from this but it kind of works.

gourmandgirly3

whether you hate this perfume or not you can't deny the fact that it set the standard for celebrity fragrances. i wanted to be like the perfume snobs and hate it but it's impossible. this starts off with kiwi and lychee notes and it dries down to a beautiful sweet powdery fruity cupcake. it's fun sexy, affordable and I'll go a step further and call it different. perfume doesn't have an age, doesn't matter if you're 90 or 19 just wear whatever you want

books.art.dogs

Mmmm it's as fun and delicious as I remember! The opening is a blast of fresh kiwi, and it dries down to a floral, candy gourmand. Projection is moderate, but the lasting power is fabulous.

Dani D-va

Bling bought because I love Britney and because the bottle is so pretty.
This starts off like a fresh sweet tropical kiwi and lychee scent. Once it’s on for a few hours the fruit goes away and I smell like sweet cotton candy musk. I absolutely love it. I’m sad I don’t pick up any cupcake or white chocolate. (If anyone can recommend a cheap perfume that actually has these notes please tag me in the comments!)
Overall I was pleasantly surprised by this affordable perfume! The lasting power is great for me (6+ hours) and the projection is good too! Based on this I’ll definitely be trying more Britney perfumes.

xanderu

i wanted to hate this, but i couldnt. This cheapie is outstanding and unique. The kiwi note is so singular and memorable. Nostalgic without being cloying or outdated, this fragrance is velvety and sweet, like the textured skin of the kiwi fruit. Sweet, airy, fun, this fragrance is perfect for the summer and an easy reach, lovely for layering. Tropical, slightly gourmand, almost unisex. Actually quite reminds me of the men's gillette "ocean breeze" shaving cream.

lovehearts

I blind bought this fragrance a few days ago and im i. LOVE with it!! it’s very similar to kayali’s yum pistachio gelato in my opinion, if not a bit fresher and a bit sweeter! it’s a gorgeous, dessert-like scent and perfect if you love smelling like something you can eat!! it’s sweet, but not in a gross, syrupy way… definitely a nice, sweet, feminine scent!!

strawberrymochi

i love this perfume! it’s so girl. it opens with a fruity shampoo scent which i love. after a while it dries down to a cupcake and faint fruit scent. i think it’s perfect for an every day perfume for gourmand lovers. it’s also pretty affordable as i got mine for $16!

candieslove

This is my dream perfume when I was 12, and now I can finally get my hands on it. I'm not disappointed with the scent. When first spraying, the kiwi smell is strong then the smell develops in white chocolate and cupcake smell. It is beautiful, it does not smell synthetic. This perfume last for a whole day, there is no need to reapply.

feuermaiden

Ahh, the smell of 2006. My eighth grade year.

After all these years and the memories attached to this scent, I still love it. I don’t think I’ll wear it very often, but I like to have it around just to smell.

It’s super sweet, cotton candy cupcake goodness. It smells like the pink color of the bottle.

rachelgiuntoli

Of all the expensive scents I have, this one is my complement getter and people are so surprised when I tell them what it is. This has been my signature scent for years. I will ALWAYS have a bottle in reach and a back up.

Sweet, fruity, creamy, tangy, woodsy, rich, airy all in the same. I feel so edible in this. I stop people in their tracks wherever I go. If I’m in a room and someone walks in, they’re asking who smells so good and I know it’s me.

I have attached so many memories to this perfume. It makes me feel desirable, fun, strong, sexy and mysterious. Fantasy is a fitting name.

cherrydays

when i think about a gourmand fragrance, fantasy is the one that comes to mind.

Its a perfect fruity gourmand dream. truly a fantasy for the lovers of those together! the litchi and kiwi together are just a chefs kiss on top of everything going on

such a delicious fragrance. couldnt stop sniffing my wrist after testing this out.
very excited to try more britney spears fragrances.

Tammyrobins7

I completely agree with the review from Stoicchild. All the first Britney releases were particularly awesome, really made with passion and lots of thought Was put into each and everything back in the day. We now have very cheap packages to the bottles and boxes and the worst part is the fragrances themselves are missing loads of notes and have some sort of chemical smell interfering with the scent sadly.

So yes do be aware of the testers as they often do put the old formulas with the crystals around the neck on the fantasies and the Believe metal plate at the top for testers but unfortunately they sell the new reformulated stuff in shops.

Pixieparis

I absolutely adore this fragrance it's one of my signature scents

katiesimpsonhair

All I smell is a musky powdery smell and it’s quite strong. I’m not too keen on this one at all.

urfavvstayy

so first of all, this is a rly gourmand scent. this scent is exactly what i think of when i think gourmand. it smells like cupcake but more fruity and its super sweet and feminine. for some people however it might be way too sweet, but i love smelling like cupcakes personally. the strongest notes for me i would say are the lychee and cupcake. it also lasts about 3-4 hours and overall if you really like sweet playful gourmand scents i would say get it. for the price, longevity, and scent i love this

Atomikbomb_

Oh wow! This is a really pleasant easy experience for the nose!

I think I'll begin with the bad news; the performance isn't what it's reputed to be by many fans, at least not to my nose. I was expecting something denser and more thickly gourmond, but I'm a little let down by how average the presence of this is. It's not bad, it sticks around and projects as much as many designer thing, but it isn't a heavy hitter.

Also, I don't get nearly as much white chocolate from this as I had hoped. I'm trusting other reviews in their claims of reformulation, this must've had some of that taken out, turned into a more generic cake scent, and balanced out.

However, with all that being said, I really enjoy this! I actually think it leans into shampoo territory with its clean fruits and white musk. It isn't the same dang fruit accord I smell in many current releases (pear/peach fruit cocktail), this is more tropical and it smells decidedly like the 2000s, which is something I can't necessarily explain, but if you know, you know.

The cake note in here is SO good. It's just delicious white cake, and it's mouthwatering. It's a fragrance that makes you want to compulsively keep smelling your wrist or shirt...addictive.

I'm usually quick to recall scent memories, but my sister used to wear this back in 2008-ish, and I don't remember it AT ALL. It's the weirdest thing, because this is memorable.

I think I might prefer this slightly to Midnight Fantasy, but I enjoy them both. Incredible bargain fragrances, easy-reaches, and feel-good fumes.

hataruna

I was intrigued by the rave reviews and seduced by the amazing price point. I quite fancied something candy sweet and indulgent. But this did not deliver. It’s sweet but not in a way I want to indulge in. On first spray it’s like “whoa, hello pre-teen!” which I don’t actually have a problem with. Then, it settles into something pleasant and surprisingly sophisticated, rivaling department store fragrances for sure. But the aftermath is where it falls flat for me; waxy, sweet, Barbie doll head. No bueno.

Night of April

I smelled this in store and... I was disappointed. This was so childish and plasticky, really underwhelming. It may be the chemistry of my skin, but after that I tried Naked Fantasy on my other arm and I loved it.
I recommend smelling it in store before purchasing! May be risky because there are many mixed reviews of this one

sprinklesontoast

One of my favourite gourmands, I wear this when I want to brighten up my day or the day of those around me. The projection and silage is fantastic, and lingers on your clothes for a long time, so oversprayers be mindful. To me the white chocolate is most prominent note and is simply delicious. My assumption before buying was that it would smell just like any other inexpensive fruity gourmand, but I actually find the combination of notes in this one to be fairly unique. It's such a fun scent, fresh enough for summer and powdery/warm enough for winter. Wear what makes you happy and you can't go wrong :)

Stoicchild

All the Britney Spears scents used to smell amazing when they were first released. They were so unique. Now they've all been weakened. The tester is often kept original while they try to sell the newer formula, so be careful because not every shop will give a refund though they're in the wrong for showing something and selling something different. A lot of celebrity perfume houses are doing the same thing. So just a heads up. Specially Britney Spears and Ariana Grande perfumes as they're the most popular amongst women aged between 13 - 30.

CrazyCrab

I've been having a stressful time recently and I've been craving sweet smells, so this was a blind buy to fit that specification. It sort of fulfills it. It's a white musk buttercream smell with some florals I can't identify. It's not as sweet as I expected which is disappointing. There is something slightly powdery in it which upsets my perception of the sweet creaminess?! My skin is horrifically sensitive to it as well, even my forearms (usually my safe spray place) get itchy and lumpy after spraying it. It's definitely not horrible and I'd like it much better if it didn't make me itchy... But I prefer midnight fantasy.
