The DAR Story
The Daughters of the American Revolution is an organization with a deeply rich history while also being truly relevant in today’s world. More than 1,000,000 women have joined the organization since it was founded over 125 years ago. They became members to honor their heritage as well as make a difference in their communities across the country and the world. I had so much fun visiting the Washington State Daughters for their State Conference. The conference was held in Seattle, known for its iconic Space Needle, thriving tech industry, and vibrant arts scene. Washington state is also the home of Recording Secretary General Lanabeth Horgen. Despite its reputation for rain, the sun came out, showing us why this state is nicknamed the Evergreen State! I’d like to thank State Regent Christine Crowder for her hospitality, my Pages Amy Brooks and Katlin Standiford for their assistance, and Emmelyn Hart for providing my transportation.
